Most high-level competitive bodybuilders have pretty puffy, flabby physiques outside of competition season due to a combination of juicing and the caloric demands required to pack on as much muscle mass as they want to. The diets they go on 6 weeks out from comps are pretty crazy too shed all that fat and stop the extreme water retention they want during hypertrophy phases.

Juicing for pure strength shouldn't make anyone fat. Look at the Bulgarian Olympic lifters from the 80s. Plus, sprinters, and other such athletes are good example of just how slim juicers can stay, as it mostly depends on diet and goals whether juicing causes you to get fat or not. Most cases of this I have witnessed, were with people not reducing their caloric intake enough when they got off the juice.
Hmmm, they are allright in the offseason, just not shredded.

Juicing done right doesnt make one fat, especially in strenghtsports, i fully agree there.

But those are pro's. Im referring to the abominations one tends to come across in gyms

Use chalk and do grip exercises.

I just hit three plates for the first time yesterday aka 315 lbs and even tho it's not a lot, it made me feel awesome. Before I had the same issue with the grip. Work out your forearms more and you'll get there.

The problems i have been having with deadlifts are not so much a back-issue, but more an issue of grip strenght.. I just can't seem to hold on to the bar when it gets heavy..
Are you using double overhand grip, or mixed grip ? Cause thats quite the factor to begin with.

There are 2 solutions.

1) use wriststraps. Grip is no issue at all anymore, but you dont train forearms to get more grip.

2) use chalk (magnesiumoxide) and mixed grip. You'll be able to grip quite alot more weight, your forearms will get stronger, and after a while you'll be able to grip much higher weight then you can actually lift off the floor. Only downside are the callus packets on your palms in case you are a pretty lady

Same here but ita the cafeine. After a while the body becomes used to taking a dump 10min after waking up and 30mins before training
Well that's good to know :)

I guess it's partly the body saying "hey, we're gonna be doin a lot of pushing and heaving so lets get this shit outta the system before there's an accident"

I'm already doing the mixed grip, and it allows me to lift more than with double overhand, and i figured my grip strengh would increase as long as i keep pushing myself. Will check out chalk (Y)

Makes quite the difference btw. And your grip will significantly increase over time, overcomming your max lift quite hard.

I recall first time i did 250, i couldnt complete 5*200 cause even witch chalk my grip wasent holding up

1 (training)year later i can easely hold weights 50-100kg higher then i can deadlift when doing high rack pulls. And my forearms who used to be pretty weak are nearly double the size as they used to be
