Guzman to Spezia

As of today, Spezia coach Antonio Soda can count Tomas Guzman among his charges. The Paraguayan forward (24) leaves Turin having made two championship appearances for the Bianconeri this season. After his arrival in 1999, Guzman made a name for himself with the Juventus Primavera, earning himself moves to Ternana, Messina, Crotone and Siena before returning to base camp this summer. The loan will last until June 2007.

I think he was captain of our Primavera, I don't think he's in the plans of DD and should be loaned/sold.

Juve agree to Guzman loan Friday 26 January, 2007

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Italian giants Juventus have loaned under-used forward Tomas Guzman to fellow Serie B club Spezia.

The Paraguayan has joined the minnows just 48 hours after the two clubs played out a 1-1 draw in the championship.

Guzman, who has played just two games this term, will end the season with Spezia before returning to Turin at the end of the present campaign.

The South American, who will turn 25 in March, was originally bought by the Turin outfit in the summer of 1999.

However, he’s rarely impressed and has already spent loan stints at Ternana, Messina, Crotone and Siena.

He seemed pretty decent. I thought his pre-season form would get him somewhere, obviously not. Im surprised he wasn't even given the nod when Nedved was gone. Not a huge loss since DD never used him, but he isn't a bad player.

Not that I care about Guzman but here's another year where we need a signing in January we end up loaning out players instead.
