That's what I mean, perhaps the terminology he uses seems normal for the eventuality. When he says those things I picture shorelines covered thick in oil, tens of thousands of animals and fish killed, and the fishing industry dead for years. He talks of an environmental disaster, I see more of a financial one. Although total cleanup could take many years in terms of absolute cleanliness of flora and fauna, people will still eat the seafood and vacation there in good time, because there will be little or no visible sign.

They might have been. I don't have the numbers.

But you're pretty much wrong with your original point.

Again, what is wrong with what he said here?

You have provided NOTHING that even remotely proves your point. Did Obama say that the gulf will turn into an oil lagoon and that people will die if they head down there, a quote that I missed or something?

You're just clutching at straws, trying to shift the blame from BP to Obama for some odd reason.

It's actually irritating how you keep making that stupid accusation at the end, nowhere do I say that so don't bother making it up. Maybe by the letter his claims are all correct, although I don't agree and historians have debated it, but it was also part of a large deflective PR campaign under pressure from the Republicans who claimed he wasn't doing enough.

    A bigger environmental disaster: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hurricane_Katrina

Worst oil disaster, debatable in terms of the environment, we don't know yet. Worst man-made environmental disaster, debatable again. It's coming down to economics now.

    What... the... fuck.

OK, if this isn't going to fire up the black helicopter tinfoil, I don't know what will.

Matt Simmons, the guy who has continually said that another leak from the same well exists a few miles away from the original blowout, has been found dead in his swimming pool.

Wait, what is going on, is this kid trying to say it was Obama's fault and not BP's?

Relative, that could be 2 months or 50 years.
Thousands of animals could have been killed.
    Thousands were killed...

    If not hundreds of thousands...

He said that Obama "deserves as much blame as anyone" for what has happened to the people of the Gulf, trying to claim that Obama should be blamed for local economies losing business.

I can agree with the point if Obama said that folks should avoid traveling to the Gulf, but otherwise he's simply telling the public the truth, which is actually a change in policy.

:lol2: Too bad there wasn't some major spillage from Luca Toni's hair in his pool.

Because what this country needs are more bailouts. :pado:

Nope, I said Obama and his administration was as much to blame for loss of tourism to the Gulf, by overstating the environmental impact. Anyway, I'll leave it there as this is going around in circles, it'll be interesting to see what the next steps are.
