I don't have any quality-brand guitar. But when day when all of you buy my albums, I'm gonna use that money and buy me this:

:tuttosport:

Anyway here is me with my guitar:

Playing some SOAD on half step drop D tuning. Lonely Day and Soldier side. Nice songs to warm up to.

Oh you want challenging? Try this on for size:

Opeth are so boring to listen to, i could learn it but im so unmotivated because i will fall asleep playing it.

that is one of the hardest finger picked songs i've leant....takes fucking stamina lol.

Edit:

Also Dheeraj, i dont have a million dollars worth of recording equiptment, effects, multi layering etc. to pull of that sound.

Getting that fleetwood mac song right is impossible because of the multi tracking on it...and because buckingham is a beast, he essentially invented his own way of fingerpicking called the 'im a show off cunt' method.

On the contrary, I think they are extremely talented. I'd say their style of music is an acquired taste. It's not easy to get into them, but if you do, you're in for a ride. That's usually the case with progressive rock.

I don't care much about the sound. Just learn the song. That should be enough.

I looked up the tab, its impossible to sound like them playing on one guitar with no effects. I used to listen to opeth, i was a massive metal head but i cant listen to music like that anymore because its so fucking boring lol.

I can learn the song easily, its a few patterns that repeat, its not that difficult, but it wont sound like them.

I can just about bulllshit my way through it, but theres no way i could play it note for note like him, fucking insanity - fuck dave mustaine, such a fucking tool - forging a career out of not being in metallica is just fucking pathetic, its not what music is about.

Are you kidding me? Hangar 18 is way harder than that, I just checked the tab for the Hendrix song and listened at the same time. Listen to Hangar 18 at around 3:15 and check the tab for it, I don't think I'll be able to play that for another year or two and I've been playing about 3 and a half years. Though the hardest solo I've actually tried to play is The Shortest Straw by Metallica, hardest Metallica solo by ten miles, I can play most of them.

What else do you expect Dave to do? He's got heaps of talent but he got kicked out of Metallica so he should just do nothing and watch Metallica be famous. Of course he's going to start another band :sergio: And don't be fooled, most of that Metallica-Megadeth bullshit was forged by the fucking media. The hate ended between the two bands ended around the late 80's or early 90's. The only real resentment afterwards I think was Dave resenting James.

Dave got booted because he was a smackhead...

You need to understand the different between technical ability and musicality. Jimi shredded the shit out of a 69 strat, and sounded music the whole way through through his playing. Dave plays guitars designed to be shreded in a really un musical way. When i listen to stuff like Dragonforce, megadeath, trivium etc. I go 'yeah you can play fast...but i have no interest in listening to you do it'..when i listen to jimi, SRV, neil young (down by the river/cowgirl in the sound (songs that pink flloyd nicked)) etc. i go 'you are insane at guitar and i could listen to you play for hours'. It is impressive to see people play like that, but its not good to listen to.
