Brazilian LB who destroyed us in the EL when he played for Benfica. Good player, will compete with Evra nicely. Shrewd business from Beppe.
big deal 1 game, so every player that destroys us should join us because they are automatically good players all of a sudden? marotta could go sign carlton cole tomorrow and you'd still defend the move somehow :sergio:

I remember the exact same moaning after we signed a 34 year old Evra coming off a "bad season" with Man United. Granted, we only paid €2m for him, but he's also on big wages too...most on here were disgusted that we signed a "finished, useless, shit player who can't defend" and yet he became one of our pillars in our CL run.

I don't know this dude at all, but he has started for Benfica and Atletico Madrid in the past two season, so I don't see where the Padoin comparisons make much sense.

As I had stated a few weeks ago, if this move facilitates Asamoah going back to the midfield once he is healthy, then it's ok by me.

Certainly not a sexy acquisition by any stretch of the imagination, but even if he does perform as solidly as Padoin did for the past two years, then I won't complain

Just like Mandzukic came off a bad season with Atletico. Because sometimes, you know, players excel at different clubs and under different managers.

Strange concept isn't it?
Maybe, maybe not. But not exactly in a position to call it shrewd business. Atletico bought him for 10m after coming off a good season with Benfica. If he keeps playing badly we're going to have to pay 9m for a player who only cost 10m when he played well, 2 seasons before. Whatever happens we're paying only 1m less than what Atletico paid when he was in demand.

But whatever, I don't know anything about Siqueira and only going by what I've read on different Atletico sites.

15m vs 9m it seems.

All other LB's would have been more which means we have more funds to hopefully spend on another "position".

Might be the difference is settling a negotiation.

And when that doesn't happen should we refer back to this moment of absolute certainty from you?

So a player that was a starter at athletico madrid last season, a team reknown for their excellent defence and organisation, is "shit" ?

Oh yes, he isnt a fancy offensive fullback, so he is shit

lol no. This guy is a very good backup for Evra. Very experienced. Allows Asamoah to move back to the cm position where we needed an extra guy. Next season when Evra will retire, we can think about a more expensive lb option.

I take this is one of the two players Allegri talked about. Now lets see that second one
