and I thought you were a huge Molinaro fan.
I am certainly not. But I don't find him as bad as you guys make him out to be. Of course I want an improvement. Besides, we are thin on that position. I wouldn't like seeing Grygera there (in fact, I wouldn't want to see Grygera starting at all) and Salihamidzic is better suited for midfield. Chiellini must remain at centre of defense!

I think in the end Ranieri will play this :

Zebina - Legro/Andrade - Melleberg - Chiellini

that looks like a very solid defence IMO...a lot of strength and height!

Apparently Lugano is leaving Fener.
you mean we should get him? i know he's good and he's better than legro and mellberg, but is he really that much stronger?

how much years left on his contract and how old is the guy? aint he a bit over 30?

edit: just checked it, he turns 28 this november. imho under 10 mio a must. with mellberg and legro as cover.. yummy.

Milan surge for Dossena
Wednesday 21 May, 2008

Milan are considering the option of replacing the departing Serginho with Udinese full-back Andrea Dossena, according to reports.

The veteran Brazilian, 36, ended his Rossoneri career on Sunday after nine years with the outfit and the club are looking for a similar flying wing-back.

Dossena could be that man after his sensational campaign at the Friuli saw him win international recognition and the interest of Liverpool.

Some reports in Italy on Wednesday are suggesting that Milan sporting director Ariedo Braida has discussed the player with Udinese counterpart Pietro Leonardi.

Talks are set to continue between both parties, but the feeling is that an agreement could be imminent.

Udinese, who have a reputation for unearthing talents, signed the 26-year-old from Treviso in the summer of 2006.

Dossena, whose only previous club was Verona, will probably be replaced in Friuli by Paolo Castellini after Parma were relegated on Sunday.

Juventus and Roma have also been tentatively associated with the versatile Dossena.

Dossena really impressed me this season, along with Maggio. They defend well and look very dangerous when going forward. Id go for Dossena, Grosso or Vargas, Pasqual is just decent.
