I really do not see how you can argue that Real Madrid is not the greatest team in the world...just compare their record and try to find anybody that comes close to it. If the Champions League is what separates the men from the bigger men, then Real, Milan, Liverpool, Ajax, and Bayern Munich all come before our Juventus despite our appearances in the Final.

I am certainly no fan of Liverpool and cannot stand the club however you can't argue with their wins in the Champions League and their history in England...so I'm surprised the club is not higher on some of the lists here. Ajax and Bayern have superior records in Europe however the leagues in which they play are obviously not the strongest, so you have to take their domestic winnings with a grain of salt.

Barcelona is somewhat of a surprise on some of these lists because afterall they have only won the Champions League once and have less of a distinguished record on home soil when compared to Real. Infact I dont know how you can put Barca ahead of Milan, Juventus, Liverpool, Ajax, Bayern, and perhaps a few others, ranking system or no ranking system. The ranking system found in this thread is very misleading to say the least because the greatest teams win the whole competition.

My personal list of the best:

1. Real Madrid
2. Milan
3. Liverpool
4. Juventus
5. Bayern Munich
6. Ajax
7. Internazionale
8. Barcelona

real madrid won much european cups when nobody cared , but when italians sayed dammnn its also a cool cup sinds then italian teams ruled and when we played bad real was there once again, but Juventus is the best team in the world for my eyes.

put real barca chelsea liverpool man u in serie a and they would never win the champions leageu because they would be on the first 4spots in serie a !

Forza Serie a!

Forza Juventus

1)Juventus
2)ac milan
3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) i dont care

This ranking is not only about Champions League (previous European Cup). In the 70s and 80s the other Cups had a much greater status than today. In the European Cup only the winners from the different countries were allowed to participate. That meant that If Juve won Serie A the year before and Milan ended up second only Juve was in the European Cup. And we all know how the form can shift from year to year.

So there were actually better teams over all in the uefa cup.
Imagine this picture of the top 15 teams in each cup…

So the ranking is not that wrong.
Witch cup belowe is the hardest to win?

The European Cup has always carried far more prestige than any other European tournmanet. Thus those who've won it more than most should be considered the best in history.
The order of greatness IMO is:

    1. Real Madrid
    2. Milan
    3. Liverpool
    4. Bayern
    5. Ajax

Of the 5 mentioned, 4 have also won their national league title more than any other club.
Juve, Barca, Inter and ManUre fall into the next group down. ;)

    Franco.

Juve is the greatest on the globe.

The first to win all three European cups (and until now only two more clubs have done the same). 28 scudetti and 2 European cups (7 times in final) can really be consider better than Real Madrid's history, the reason is written above. AC Milan, Liverpool, Barca, Bayern Münich? Nah.

This thread is about the 'greatest' team in the world, not the club with the most throphies. For that reason there have to be some English clubs in that list as well, although they haven't won much in the last decade they attract lots of fans. If Porto wins the CL people don't put them in this list, although they always have success in their own league. Reputation matters badly.
