Anybody else messing with this beta app at all? (http://www.grandcentral.com/)

A more recent :google: acquisition, you get to choose a single phone number and have multiple phone devices mapped to it. From there you can have the control to pass calls between phones, to mutually share voice mail (or to customize different things for each phone, etc.), to ring multiple phones, to record calls, to use a global caller ID, and to even block calls like a spam filter.

Seems like their business model is to cash in on checking voice mail and launching IP calls from the app. Otherwise, everything seems pretty much free now and for the future.

I haven't played with it much, but it seems pretty cool.

And unlike Juventus Member, it looks like people in my home country get to try it out first. ;)

I think for the moment. They mention that they have international expansion plans soon so you can register for international numbers, etc.

It's actually pretty cool. You can have a single phone number and link all your phones ... hitting a button to switch from your mobile to your home phone in mid-call, for example. There are probably some European privacy issues (Moggi?!?! ;)), but you can also record your calls at the touch of a button in the current version.

It gives you a single place to access all your voice mail on all your phones, a choice to be notified when a message comes in anywhere, etc.

In some ways, the concept of the single mobile phone that replaces all home, office, and other phones kind of makes this app obsolete. But for people who do maintain multiple phones (and an office phone being one example of something you can't consolidate), it has some cool features.
