A new beta release from Google labs... Google Trends:

http://www.google.com/trends

Enter your search terms and find out the search traffic and news citations, with associated key news stories, over time. And it breaks it down by city, region, and language.

e.g.: for Juventus

http://www.google.com/trends?q=juventus&ctab=0&date=all&geo=all

Seems like Torino, Bari, Palermo, Nola, and Pisa are where are the world's searches are coming from -- in that order.

Interesting. With all this stuff over the referees, resignations, etc., you'd expect a jump on the search for juventus, but it's actually in a trough after the Arsenal game! I see Serie A is on an up though!

I think it's because it takes Google a bit of time to aggregate and process recent data from all their servers worldwide. That and this is a beta and they probably had ready access to older data to do a proof of concept.
