We were left with the choice to buy the best available (Pjanic+Higuain) for 120 million euros, or go after weaker players for less. We decided to go for Miralem and Gonzalo, and I support that decision. We weren't gonna make the CL final and we might have lost the scudetto if we didn't do what we did.

As I said, when we bought him, we paid about 20-30 too much, just like United did for Pogba. I also said that his transfer would be a failure, if we would not win the CL. At that price, he's a failure. I still like how he made our offensive play much better with his constant running, pressing and distribution of the ball. He was excellent in the first half tonight. Our club seems to make strikers worse at what they're good at.
