I bash Higuain all the time... but as far as Argentina goes...
Higuain has scored in the knockout rounds of every major tournament since 2010 world cup... Only Argentine player to do so.
2010 World Cup: Rof16: winning goal against Mexico.
2011 Copa America: Quarterfinal: tying goal against Uruguay and scored his penalty in shootout loss.
2014 World Cup: Quarterfinal: winning goal against Belgium
2015 Copa America: Semifinal: scored against Paraguay
2016 Copa America: Quarterfinal: 2 goals against Venezuela + Semifinal: 2 goals against USA
5 straight major international tournaments he has scored in the knockout rounds. @Zacheryah
Its exceptionally easy to criticise Higuain because the actual story, quite different, requires some research
At Napoli, Higuain has done pretty excellent. But what happens is this
Higuain scores twice in a clutch game. But Napoli lets in 2 goals so they need a third. He misses the penalty on the third.
Conclusion : choker.
Argentina : The guy barely gets any feed whatsoever cause messi chokes out every single time it gets tough. If he misses one of the bitter few chances he gets : choker.
Higuain has a mighty good conversion rate. Most clinical striker in the game. If you give him chances, he will score. In italian football this is why we have a history of paying big for these strikers.
Considering the vast amount of chances we make, that clinical finishing is exactly what we need and will be a huge boost.
People forget, we now have Pjanic, Dybala, Alves and Sandro delivering all kinds of feed to him. Such an insane upgrade

Exactly but because he was injured you can't blame the kid and we were talking of finals and maybe when it counted the most. We've lost a rare and raw gem of a talent in pogba, something higuain just isn't. There are 2-3 in the world like higuain but only 1 of pogba.
Higuain is the most clinical forward in the game, and from all the worldclass CF's, the most complete(important for our setup).
Pogba can be amazing but we have never seen Pogba beeing outstanding in a big european game bar City, nor in italy. These are the facts. Insane potential, but not quite there yet0.
Pogba is also a problem for a coach. He needs to be a BtB midfielder in a 3 man midfield, he needs proper backup up.
You cannot play 4-2-3-1 with him. You can play 4-3-3 but he'll be your most offensive midfielder.
