Well, thinking moreaabout it,,,, it could work for them.

All they need to do is to have a good target identified to replace Higuain. Higuain will never replicate the season he just had... in fact, i can see him dropping his performance dramatically. If they snatch some depth players from us, and with the money they get they find a great young prospect to repalce higuain..they could be even more balanced than last year and beat the other competitors not named juve.

if they want to sell him, now is the time.
he peaked one season too early i think for them. Its next to impossible for him to repeat last season so his value is highest now. Problem is if they sell him for cash they will be strapped with bags of cash but would have to compete with the rich guys who are way more attractive than they are. The rich guys dont go for fully established stars only anymore, they buy players with potential which would normally be napoli's kind of signings. They'd pay star level money for the worst of the young potential talents.

Had he peaked a year later, he wouldnt have demanded to leave yet, and UTD, City, Chelsea, Pool etc.. would have finished their shopping spree so they could have bought the likes of Batshuayi. Now the likes of batshuayi wont go to napoli because they can go to a rich club with a better project.

How is a 5th choice CB an important player? Important for the future? Sure. Would he be more important than Higuain next year? Absolutely not.
why do we pretend that we will never have backline injuries (esp aging barza and chiello) to contend with? esp in periods when we can ill afford them. and what about suspensions or poor form?

selling rugani is not a good idea.

When have these ridiculous squad player exchanges ever happened? I doubt we lose Rugani.
yeah thats why i am skeptical.

Also there squad doesnt seem to be very short on players to be in dire need for that many squad players.

They have Gabbiadini as a CF if Higuain leaves. Zaza is not really a replacement at all for Higuain.

They have Callejon and Mertens and Hamsik and Insigne to play behind/next to the striker. Pereyra is hardly an improvement over any of them.

They have Allen, Jorginho etc.. sturaro is about the same kind of level.

They'd really be adding quantity not quality if they take the deal, when they arent very short on quantity either. Their squad would be a ton of players at the average/above average level but no serious quality throughout. You'd expect cashing in on Higuain means adding 2 or 3 quality players in the squad that are clearly superior to what they have.

Say we sell Zaza it wouldnt surprise me if we got Immobile on the cheap. Home grown as well.

He's a choker but he's incredibly talented. In any case, he could stop being a choker like Robben, who was a huge choker before he turned things around in 2013. You never know. At worst we bench his ass for Mandzukic in the CL final if we get there :D

Dybala-Higuain would be deadly.

Imo the only way we would do this deal is if Higuain agreed to give up some salary money so we can pay of his ransom, something like agreeing to the same salary he has at Napoli (5mln after tax) instead of the 7,5mln after tax he could get everywhere and we supposedly agreed with him. Otherwise the whole package to finance him becomes ridiculous and not worth it.

How is it not worth it? He scored more than twice as many goals last year than any of our players and broke the serie a all time record.

For a team like Juve who is challenged scoring goals in the champions league a player like this is an absolute must !!! We need to start thinking like real barca and Bayern if we want to be in their class. Spend and invest !

If we sell Pogba (120m) and buy this guy for 94m , that would be retarted .

Can't see those teams investing 100m euros as a fee and 7,5m salary for a choker like this. Sanchez/Arsenal could probably be tempted by half that amouny.

You really want to buy a 29 years old guy for close to a 100M with a 7.5 Million wage after tax? Really? That'd be a stupid and wasteful financial move by Beppe, and that's basically everything the guy isn't. It's not like we'd be getting Neymar or Suarez, Higuain is great but not 100M great. Maybe half that.

not a beppe kind of deal: expensive, on a high salary, 29, will never improve, eternal choker. the best aspect of juve buying higuain would be simply to piss off napoli. i'd pass and take sanchez instead: cheaper, younger, fits the team better.

but if either of these would mean selling pogba, i'd pass on both.

It's a win-win situation. ADL will be forced to sell Higuain this summer. He is afraid that he might end with us and their shitty fans will kill him then.So he will be forced to sell him abroad. Anyway they will be without him next season.
There is no way that we will pay 94 mil. for him.Even 74 ,players included ,is too much.
If we catch a chance and buy him for something reasonable, players included (the question is what is a reasonable price),than we will get a top striker in him. So,the ball and the pressure is on ADL not us.
