We underestimate too much our team. I have a feeling that some of our players will prove that they are still WC (Gigi, Chiello, Pirlo) and some others who are also very good options.

We have a worse starting eleven than Napoli, at the moment? Hell yes. Worse squad? Not so much. They'll have CL, they might not be so lucky with their fitness levels this season. Do you know Cavani? The boy needed so fucking much his holliday's time, he looks very tired in the copa and isn't playing shit. Roma? Lazio? They are in better stage than us too, at the moment. Wait until the end of the market window. Even if I do not believe in Marotta capacities to make Juve a scudetto contender already, I think we'll be at least competitive for the third spot. Yes, it sucks, but could be worse...

Better to take the 35me and spend it on Luka Modric instead....
Yes, mainly with Pirlo already here... and with Marchisio as backup. It makes perfect sense to me.

My Bad zarate/lavezzi they both suck :p
You only watched Lavezzi for Argentina in the Coppa, haven't you?
No other reason to say he sucks. He was instrumental for Napoli this year. Unstoppable, fast, assist machine. He didn't win a starting spot for Argentina just like that, you know :D

I doubt we will be lower than Roma, Lazio or Udinese at the end of next season. The top 4 fight will be between AC, merda, Napoli & us depending on the players we bring in. Hopefully merda fails with the 3-4-3. I imagine that formation wouldn't be too good against speedy wingers if they play a backline of Ranocchia, Lucio & Samuel.

Pirlo isn't more than a stop-gap. Well, at 32 he shouldn't be more than one.

TBH, I think Rossi would be a very good buy for Juventus at 25m euros. With Rossi, Bastos, Vidal and current squad, Juventus have enough quality to finish 3rd. What happens after that though? I'd really like to see the club consistently finish #1 or #2 in league and reach at least the quarter-finals or semi-finals of the CL every year. Today's football games in CL are more often than not, won in midfield. Top quality creative midfielders are harder to come by. All I'm saying is that Luka Modric would be a more valuable player to the team in the long run (perhaps, this is the wrong thread to say it in?). If Juve could pull a rabbit out of the hat to sign Modric, wouldn't this be possible?

2011-12
Matri
Bastos --- Modric --- Krasic
Marchisio ---- Pirlo

2012-13
Rossi --- Matri
Bastos -------------------- Krasic
Marchisio ---- Modric

It's not like Rossi is going anywhere else. Inter and Milan aren't interested in him. Roma are an outside bet. If he returns to italy, odds are that it will be with Juventus, even next year.

Did you just say 35M? Conte won't change the tactic anyway, but in that case I'd go all the way for Pastore.

Wishfull thinking, Conte will realise that the tactic needs to be changed when Juve step up into CL. I agree with your statement about the midfield, but we have a very creative trequartista already linked to the club and next year we could use him, with two midfielders behind him providing the balance. Kind of 4-2-3-1 and I'm talking about Giovinco.

Btw, Modric wouldn't accept to come here and I think that creative midfielder can well wait until the next season.

@Flamez, I'm sorry but I think Giovinco is long gone from us man.

@Xiven, Modric would be beautiful but unfortunately I can't see Marotta paying up for him, if he isn't for Aguero.

I don't think he is the player to build a team around and win us a CL.

Villareal want straight up cash, 30mil + 5mil bonus, they don't have to sell the player and the player doesn't mind staying, we are offing 22mil + 8mil bonus

BTW if we do end up signing him I think its more of a signing to shut the fans up and showing that they deviled on a "Big Name Signing"

Cutting it close.

22M upfront, 5M bonuses would be a bit more fair.
