But he doesn't regret not taking Balotelli and Cassano because Iaquinta is better than both of them?

The actual words Lippi said were "Rossi is the only player I regret not taking to SA". It means that he still thinks not taking Balotelli and Cassano was the right thing and imo it makes his words meaningless.
Cassano is overrated and Balotelli is a head case... how many times has Prandelli called him up since he took over? 1 time in a meaningless friendly.

Let's just get him signed and integrated into the squad already. The unfortunate truth is that we are not going to sign Aguero and players at the Tevez level are out of our reach this year. I do not see any better options out there that are available, so as long as we get Rossi for 25m or under in this ridiculously inflated market then this is a good move, no question about it. Rossi is a very talented player that can offer us something different, he's a good age and I care noting for his nationality debate, because the point is it doesn't matter as long as he can offer something to our team.

Rossi has in the last year delivered on the promise he showed in United. Scoring 32 goals in a season is an incredible feat that few players are able to accomplish. Even the best attackers of all time like Ibra and Batistuta never scored that much in a season. Also 4 years ago he scored 9 goals in 20 appearances as a newcomer without a preseason for a struggling Parma. Very good player. I am very excited about his very likely arrival.

Reading that Blanc turned down the chance to sign him for 5 mil € really gets me. We were in a solid position after the calciopoli and with a competent management I think we would already be celebrating our 3rd star. I think that Secco\Blanc did more direct damage to our club then the relegation to Serie B itself.

There were a ton of young players that could have been signed at that time, that they turned a blind eye towards.

Hamsik, anyone?

You're using Prandelli for Balotelli's case but you ignore how the same Prandelli made Cassano the focal point of the team and you say Cassano is overrated :howler:
And the same Prandelli benched Rossi for most of the matches, starting him only in the two easiest home matches against the Faroes and Estonia (since you don't count the friendlies for Balotelli, we don't count them for Rossi either).

Cassano shits all over Rossi in terms of talent, quality and usefulness.

I think scoring 32 goals in a season is very useful. I don't think Cassano could provide that.

And you think Rossi will again score those 32 goals? I'd like to see him do that this year without playing 56 matches as he did for Villarreal last season.

You guys make it sound like Rossi is a regular +30 goals scorer :howler:

I tell you what, forget about Rossi, lets get Di Natale. He scored 29 and 28 respectively in the last two seasons, and only in serie A.

We already tried that and he said no.

I think he would score 20+ goals for us next season without injuries. I also think he would be our most important player. And I wouldn't mind Di Natale, not at all, for serie A he would be a very smart signing.
