Rossi uncertain over future
Giuseppe Rossi is waiting to know where he will be playing next season as Manchester United have yet to respond to Parma’s offer.
The Under-21 international was decisive in keeping the Gialloblu in Serie A during his loan spell at the Tardini, helping their cause with nine goals after his January move.
Although he stated that he wanted a chance in the United first team this term, Parma President Tommaso Ghirardi tabled a £7m offer in a bid to convince the Premiership club to sell the youngster.
“I think with an offer of £6.7-8.1m, Manchester United could be tempted to let Rossi go,” said the player’s agent Andrea Pastorello.
“Parma have made an offer and are awaiting a response from Manchester,” added the striker’s representative.
Rossi, who is also a reported target for Fiorentina, is highly rated by Red Devils manager Sir Alex Ferguson, but could be forced out of the club by the expected arrival of West Ham’s Carlos Tevez.
“Fiorentina are a great club and could represent a good solution for Giuseppe, who is a young talented player,” explained Pastorello, referring to reports that the Viola are ready to offer £8m.
“I have just returned from Spain and I haven’t had a chance to speak to sporting director Pantaleo Corvino yet. I will do so in the next few days to see if the negotiations can be successful,” he concluded.
Milan were also expected to make an offer for the New Jersey-born marksman, as they continue to search for a new striker with Ricardo Oliveira expected to join Real Zaragoza in the next few days.
