were all his signings, and he did all these with a modest budget.

Don't get me wrong, he messed up badly this summer, but give the man props that he deserves. He's probably the biggest reason why went out of our dark ages, only problem is that is all past. He's messed up badly this time, perhaps he simply didn't know how to manage large sums of revenue. I still think he deserves another chance, hopefully he'll learn from this fiasco.

Nobody thought Pirlo would be the game changer he turned out to be. On the surface of it, and I'm sure Marrotta didn't see it any differently than we did at the time of making the signing. Anybody who thought Pirlo would be the Pirlo we saw is an absolute genius.

Apart from Licht and Vidal, you'll see Pogba, Morata, Tevez were all opportunity signings. Tevez went for as good as free before time, Pogba will likely be our financial buffer for lack of CL action, who by the way was not the potential 100m signing we see today at the time of being signed, while next season Morata may also be going back to Madid too. And his two absolutely brilliant signings of Vidal and Licht have been undone because of how he went about the Vidal saga this summer. I guess the point I'm trying to make is that you need to go out and spend on quality rather than spread out resources to build depth continually especially in a season like this one when the starting team is weaker. Look at the money we spent. Fucking 18m on Zaza who almost ended up at West Ham shortly after. And you're telling me Allegri wanted this team? We are a joke currently. And as far as the success goes, make no mistake about it, Conte performed a miracle in his first season with us. The team he had and to win the Scudetto th way he did. Common.

I think it was all planned but maybe too long term and too soon. I'll say again that this season or at least early part was always going to be tough, and there have been additional circumstances causing problems for Allegri, but we are too much of a long term work in progress.

If we purely review Allegris performance here, I am not trying to go soft on him, but I'll be honest, I think he got fucked over with the transfer market, then a poorly planned preseason, and his training staff fucked up with the injuries. He definitely must take some of the blame for not having a clear vision for the team, but I am not sure I can put this entirely on him because I genuinely feel he had a different vision for this team than a last minute Coman sale and last minute Cuadrado and Hernanes and Sandro signing.

We are good value for our 10th place position, but Allegri's skill-set is not to build a team, it is to make them play a fluid game. The chopping and changing, has not played to his strengths. And is is something the management should have understood and acknowledged before playing to their own strengths.

I think too much for our own good. I honestly don't think Lemina and Sandro were planned for. Nor was Coman's sale and Cuadrados last minute acquisition. We seemingly panicked a bit after the Vidal sale, and I'm pretty sure that affected our movement thereafter. It's incredible how smooth the first half of the mercato went and simply imploded thereafter. Amazing really, how it turned into what it did. First we buy Zaza for 18m and then try to palm him off, wouldn't strike me as a team with a plan or set vision in place. We tried to overcompensate in my view for losing out on our preferred AM.

That's because, like I said, we are almost moving in one manner as far as the mercato goes, irrespective of how we are growing and evolving as a team. When you're coming off two 7th place seasons, you can surely go about and look for a opportunities, but when you've won 4 scudetti and made it to the CL final, you need to change tracks and be more decisive, but we have Hernanes to show for that level of success. Surely tells you something about our mentality and approach as a club.

Marotta clearly fucked up, especially in the way you are saying, but now the onus is on Allegri to find a combination that works, and he's just proving utterly inept in that regard. He tinkers too often and too much. We had those very good couple games before the international break, with Morata-Dybala up front, and what does Allegri do after the break? Doesn't play them again together for the next 3 matches... He needs to pick a formation, pick a starting line-up, and go with it for a run of games. Not 1-2 and then switch again. But a good run of 6-7 games to give the players some continuity. Go 4-3-1-2. Pereyra when he gets back and is healthy, but for now, try Cuadrado as the CAM, or use Pogba there, like a few games ago. Just move back to that formation, and stop fucking tinkering with things, especially with so many new players needing organization and structure in order to integrate into a new squad. Allegri has made things far more chaotic than necessary.

This is definitely more on Marrotta than it is on Allegri. Then it is on whoever planned preseason, and finally on Allegri for taking it in the ass instead of taking a stand on his vision for the team, and his fitness team for fucking up an almost 'made of steel' level of athleticism that Conte created with his fitness regimen.
