If you look at a club like Man United, their senior squad turnover has always been quite low. But this is because Turd Ferguson is a much more careful and talented player developer and football brain. This is what we should be striving to become, guiding young players along into the first team. It's the opposite of the 90's.
Have you forgetten how many youth prospects we have signed in the past couple of seasons? Pogba, Bonatini, Sorensen, Gabbiadini, Masi, Boakye, Leali, Branescu etc and we are looking to sign Doria.

Don't forget Marrone too.

Asamoah & Isla are still only 24 also.

Paratici/Marotta have signed tonnes of promising youngsters so far, and have said on many occasions that they want us to focus on bringing players up through the ranks.

in b4 Andy starts whinging about those players being co owned and loaned.

i dont want to criticise andy for lack of italian football knowledge..

But there is a reason the average age is higher, and why we loan and co own

Tactical awareness and knowledge, is crucial. especially in a league where tactics are critical, and defenders focus on working as a unit to close down space and back the marker if he makes an anticipating move, or the midfield, that focusses on elimitating passing/running route's, cutting of the opponent buildoff

you simply dont have the skills for that at 18 years old.

Pogba already looks destined for stardom but if another 2-3 players (at minimum) out of that list make our first team as regular starters that would be amazing.

Yes, these are promising talents. But we'll see how much of a role they play in the future. I'd say the majority end up consumed in the loan system and don't have a true future at the club.

If someone wants to say Marotta has done a decent job, fine. But to claim he has a done anything more than decent is simply strange. For the money and time spent, the lack of overall direction despite the success with Conte is not acceptable and he will need to fine-tune his scouting abilities. The turnover that we have seen at this club is similar to Inter's in previous years, which we always had a laugh at.

El Whatever and Pogba sort of beg to differ nowadays. So do the folks that were consistently beaten by English sides over the past decade in the CL, much to my dismay, but the fact still remains.

But OK, Zizou. Thank goodness you resigned from Real to grace us with your presence.

:sergio:

We have the best defense and arguably the best MF in Europe, yet this is not good enough. Our foward line is getting there but the players required are always very expensive though we could get Llorente on a free. Our depth is obviously very good considering we topped our CL group are top of the league by a large margin. Nipples FC, for example, couldn't do the same or even get top 3 last season because of lack of depth.

Marotta is doing an excellent job.

Marotta's scouting abilities... Did you know we have actual scouts? /scapegoat

Andy!!! Mostly welcome!!

Cronios wanted a proven CF/ST, but as we all have utterly being trolled by Marotta, we have subconsciously lowered our standard; atthis rate, anything that's better than matri/quaq/boriello/bendtner is acceptable.
True that, back in the days i have had high (Treze class) ambitions, that we may reach again the old Juve standards, but now, even a Rossi/Llorente would make me happy!
And we cant even get half of that atm.
I tried hard to resist not to make compromises, but after so many Amauris, Borriellos and Bendtners, while all the while Lazio, Inter, Napoli, Milan, Fiorentina all have no issues to buy the forwards they want, when they want, got to me...

Why is it that you always ignore Vucinic, Quag, Matri & Gio from the foward line? You make it seem as though they are our only fowards.

Wait, I already know. Because you're a troll.

O, because i always rated them as SSs and not goal scoarers, we always had great SSs and i was always repeating that it is not a priority to sign new, not hard to find.
We could have done the same with half of the excesive investment we did on them IMO, but way much better if we were investing to a starter finisher, i believe that history has already proved my point on this, esp with Iaq, Amauri and Matri.
And now we see that we should never loan Giovinco with the rights to buy in such a low tag and no buy back clause and why Vucinic, despite being an upgrade to Qauq, still didnt solve our finishing issues, which were always more severe than our creativity issues, due to lack of finisher options.
