The team is amazingly balanced, in spite of the fact that there is no top striker. That, my friends, speaks of the quality and the amount of quality on this team, to not have to rely on one player playing well all the time in order for them to win.


And that speaks of the work of both Conte and Marotta. There are a boatload of teams who would love to be in the position that Juve have been in the past 18 months, guys. We as juventus fans are very lucky that the stars have aligned the way they have, and that there is a foundation of trust and teamwork between coach and ownership who are on the same page.

asamoah, wasn't a LWB, if he couldn't perform we would've stuck with de ceglie.

and lucio is turned to be a bad signing, which now put us into trouble.

youth signings are great but you can't compare them the same level as 1st team transfers, and it's not like we have signed young del piero or messi or neymar and such.

Well, this isn't Rocket Science here. Anyone who knows anything about the history of Serie A, woudl realize that the only thing stopping Juve from being successful back then was a Milan squad who ranks up there with the greatest eras of a football club of ALL TIME.

From 2006-2010, it is very safe to say that this squad was very Del Piero dependent, even when the signs were there that he could no longer do it, week in , week out, and was saddled with a burden that quite frankly was unfair to be saddled with at his age.


At various points of last year, there were loud whispers that this team was very Pirlo depnedent. If he wasn't playing well, Juve had no chance.

Serie-A was in a better state and Juve had even more pedigree and a higher market position when Moggi operated. He was great, don't get me wrong, but he also brought us garbage from time to time. Gladstone anyone? Knezevic?

Knezevic was all Secco. I remember him being so proud of himself for having snatched him up with competition from Torino.

Yeah. Probably not as a complete flop, though (due to everyone's low expectations of him in the first place). Kapo was kind of like Daniel Fonseca, but with even less impact. Signings that were made for depth. I approve of those, and The Great Man is indeed great at making them too.

I always hear people moaning about firing Marotta, but never have I heard who we'll replace Marotta with.. Sabatini, Prade?

Word. I've always rated Marino, though, but Marotta is better.

Galliani is an old fox and there's no doubting his skill, but I don't believe him to be as suited to these new, difficult conditions Serie-A are struggling with as Marotta is.

In my opinion, which probably won't come as a shock, The Great Man is the best there is.

I am not convinced by Marotta, it will take more time. But I am happy that the management seems to co-work and respect one another, Agnelli, Paratici, Conte, Marotta, and so on. Decisions are made not by one of them but in a group. I like that and with our without Marotta I hope this continues. For now I as already stated am not convinced, at least not yet, but I can not see any replacement anyhow and I'm ready to let Marotta prolong his stay and convince me.

Del Neri is appointed by the board, not marotta, they bought both.
krasic had a great impact, it was del neri who couldnt figure out how to use him in a way that teams didnt mark the living shit out of him
Motta, according to many before the signing, was a solid player
Pazienza, tho bad in passing and all, still was a solid cdm.
Toni was bought because amauri and iaquinta were failing, and quag was injured, we had no money, so we got toni
trezeguet had to go as we were cutting the wage bill, and believed amauri would return to his best like his start at juve, wich was better then trez his past 2 seasons
diego had to go, tbo the price was a bit low
Bonucci to zenit ? no man, no quotes of that, all media

del neri fucked that season up. marotta gave him a good enough team that he couldnt work with, while doing what the board asked : cut down the wagebill, rejuvinate the team, and give the coach a decent selection that competes for top3

I never criticized him for finishing 7th that year, because I was too busy still being mad at Secco, Blanc and Cobolli Gigli. They were still the main reasons for us struggling. The fact remains that it only took this club 2 seasons with Marotta as DS to win back a very unlikely scudetto. Conte deserves the most credit, but Marotta played his part too.

And besides, if you haters are so adamant on putting so much emphasis on Marotta's first year at Juve; how about you put the same amount of emphasis on his second year?

Dude has grown, and he's the best. Da Bawmb, he is. He is also truly a great, great man.
