Buying youth players isn't enough though.

I like Appelt, but where will he be in 5 years? That's the biggest struggle with developing your own players, and Italian clubs don't have a reserve league or B teams.
Did I say it was enough?

Considering Marchisio, Marrone, De Ceglie & Giovinco are former youth players should say a lot.

Appelt, Pogba, Boyake, Buoy, etc...these are all ones with hopes for a bright future and all bought very inexpensively. Marotta is fusing the two together. First team setup without buying at astronomical prices along with future talent through scouting.

It's about time if you ask me. He and Paratici (spelling?) are doing well I think.

Vidal is a world class CM for only 10m, Barzagli was a frickin' revelation, Licht, Caceres, Asa, Isla...basically the most expensive player he has bought for the CURRENT set up is Bonucci and he is obviously a gamble that looks like it might start paying off in the next year or 2. He hasn't gone over the top since Martinez (lol), so I think now with Conte in charge there is a different method to the madness and Marotta is deliving the goods Conte is asking for.

Now, the fact that B81 and others are gearing up to criticize him if he doesn't bring a "top" player isn't fair. It just isn't. How do we know that Agnelli isn't telling him not to spend over a certain amount of the budget on one single player, or Conte isn't crazy about "certain" targets because others are just too expensive? Marotta has put together an undefeated team and that alone deserve a lot of do credit. A top striker that fits our system, has a personality that Conte demands and doesn't carry an inflated price tag isn't as easy as heading down the milk isle in a grocery store.

That's exactly it. I want to see how they follow through (haha) now, lets see if these guys have a plan or we'll see Padoin signings to keep players out of the first team.

Regarding top player, I think van Persie would be the last possibility of a big name, but I don't care about the name. If Llorente scores 25 goals here then he will be a top signing, and those complaining won't be anymore. The same goes for Pazzini and Acquafresca. I think it would be a big success if we got Džeko.

:D

Like I've been saying. I just want a 20-25+ goal striker. Don't care who. Just want goals.

It's been a while. :touched:
:shifty: You won't understand. You were probably still in diapers, sucking milk off mommie's titties, and going goo goo ga ga when we were dominant and in our prime :p

It's sad times indeed when guys like Padoin, Giac, Matri, and Quag become fappage material for some people. Back in the day, guys like Zalayeta and Kovacevic (our 4'th choice strikers) were more solid options than the likes of Quag and Matri :sigh:

How about you stop comparing those times with today's? For someone who is supposed to be mature with all the knowledge he possesses of Juve's history (as if you're the only person who knows it), you act as a child with your statements almost all the time.

Now stick to your experienced claims and thoughtful smileys and be done with it.

Why are you getting all touchy my little bitch? I'm just expressing my frustration and highlighting facts. Obviously, I don't expect us to line up with 11 WC players, as the days Serie A was a dominant force are long gone (hopefully they'll return in 5-7 years, if not 10). However, the fact of the matter is we do have too many average/mediocre players, even by today's standards.

I'd love to see guys like Marrone, Pgoba, and some of the other young guns get more playing time, as I firmly believe they possess more talent and natural ability than some of the squad fillers. I still love you though :sheik:
