Patient: So Dr Cronios, what's the prognosis? Will I return to full health?

Cron: It's terrible. You're going to die, you have not a hope in hell. If I was you I'd call up your local funeral directors and get all the arrangements sorted out, but make sure they aren't Italian, because they are known to be mediocre and nationalistic and will try to pull the wool over your eyes to promote their fervent nationalism at the expense of actual true quality. They are tyrants and charlatans of the worst kind.

Patient: What the fuck are you going on about?!

Cron: You just listen to me, I've known you are dooOOOoOoooomeD all along, I know better than anyone else and those who doubt me will see I was right all along in the end. From all accounts you've lived a mediocre life, with a sub-par ugly wife, inadequate children and a pathetic job, your life was set for ruins anyway, consider death the best possible destination for you. Are you sure you aren't half Italian? This would explain the mediocrity and the patheticness of your current situation.

Patient:....I think I'm going to go to another doctor from now on....

I acually agree with Cron on this. Conte is the one that deserves praise, not Marotta.

A lot of people were skeptical about our acquisitons, how we did not buy a proper/quality CB, resolved our LB problem, or bought any marquee players when Marotta was promising players of Benzema or Aguero's caliber.

Conte managed to transform this group into what it is now, and while far from being perfect, we have accomplished as much as we have thus far, mainly due to Conte and in spite of Marotta.

When Marotta resolves our LB problem once and for all (and not by acquiring shitbags like Aogo), acquires a quality CB (Hummels, not Boshitty), gets rid of the deadweight, gets us a starting RW, and a signing to excite the fans, only then will I praise him for his work.

Also, you can't expect him to build a perfect team in pretty much one window. At the beginning of 2010/11 there was very little budget so that window barely even counts. By the end of next summer mercato hopefully the squad will be pretty competitive for CL.

To be honest, the jury is still out on Conte too, since we haven't won anything yet.
Well, we haven't won anything yet, and we won't this season, but as far as I'm concerned, Conte has proved himself.

Great tactician? Check
Great motivator? Check
Gets the best out of his players? Check
Is loved and respected by his players? Check

As far as winning titles goes, that's really up to the club. If Juventus wants titles, they must provide Conte with 1-3 true world class players (on top of the squad he already has).

Conte is a great coach, and he's getting the maximum out of his current squad, but he's not a miracle-worker.

So my question is (to all of you who think this way): Will you solely base your opinion of Conte on whether or not we'll win the title this season?

If so, he's gonna get a lot of stick around here, when the season is over.

He already proved much in such a short term, he just needs his scudetto to prove consistency.
But he's the prime candidate for manager of the season in Serie A to me.
