Playing old Cannavaro last year cost us a lot of points, Secco's fault he didn't improve the defence for a bit, he went cheap on that although Cacares was nice.
Playing old Del Piero is going to cost us points this year, even Quag in his best form isn't anything special compared to even 36 year old Del Piero. Says a lot about him. Del Neri's vision on it was fucked up, he said he would play Del Piero when fit over anyone iirc (Diego)
Marotta and Del Neri are simply to conservative like every Italian coach out there, we needed someone with a more young and innovative vision imo.

What Marotta has done now is to build a foundation to stand on. A foundation we can start to build on. Young player with a bright future. As well as established players who are not 30 yet, exept del piero. Gross and bracco are not even in the team atleast it looks like it.
Next season opens for one or two signings of real class when the team now has a depth, and we don't need more "avrage players"(like some off you say). I think Dzeko or Pazzini, perhaps Guisepe Rossi? Elijah? Who knows? The money will be there next summer or perhaps already in the winter?
Marotta have sent numerous usless players . It seems that many forget it. It is a difficult and time consuming task. We just can not replace a whole team and bring a player with the price of EUR 20 million at each position, especially not without selling discarded "money sucikng idiots".You have to act smart also financially these times.
The team that we have at present is supposed to reach the Champions League spot. Looking on the paper it should not be any problems. The only thing missing at the moment is continuity and interaction between the various team parts. Not surprising, given that 6-8 new players will have to get playing time. It takes time. (Can we be spared from lots of injuries would be very helpful).
An advancement to the Champions League this season is a major achievement. In economic terms, and perhaps not as much athletic, then no one expects more than top 4. Or even a Scudetto. Anyway, we will get money into and a possible stay in the CL, which opens doors, gates, doors to better players with great exellence in what they do.
We must be patient and trust that Delneri can do this. Why? We have no choice. We sit and write at a forum. In the end, we really don't know as much as we think.

if we could afford to give 8 players 10mil/season, we would have gotten quite a diffrent team as we have now

the team obviously lacking creativity and no one could hold the ball for more than 2 seconds other than Diego, but marotta was in rush to get rid of him.
now the team is 0 in creativity and the players just try to pass the ball to free team mate instead of creating something, and thats exactly what happened in Bari... and it lowered the team confidence because who ever have the ball dont know who he should give it to because all the others are limited just like him...

Stop using that as an excuse, if he can buy Martinez for that amount of money and loan Pepe,Aquilaniand Quag or do you think we loan them for free?, we do got money to spend. same goes for 15million on Krasic which i thinbk is the only good transfer he made, him and Bonucci.

If you watched the entire bari game(it was painfull, i agree) then you could clearly see that individually, alot of players got potential, but there wasent a team on the field. they couldnt find each other, resulting in 1 combination in the entire game(melo's infiltration)
marchisio and martinez apparently playing half injured, quag was here for just 48 houres, krasic wasent match fit, etc
you say we should spend all on 1 player, but what about the disgusting defence from last year ? who would replace buffon for half a year ? what about creative midfielders ? what about a new striker ?
we simply had to spread the cash, to revamp the entire squad, and more or less soften the weak points.

You are still using excuses m8, and i didn't say we should spent it on 1 player but you can clearly see that marotta;s vision of ItaJuve is full of mediocre players and not the players which are better and cheaper, Send back the failed loans which we payed for to loan and pay for the wages. That are double expenses made by us, we got fooled over and over again by overpriced mediocre players. I wish some day you can see that too. For now i will stop this discussion because the mercato is over and now it's up to DelNeri to make a team out of these players but without creativity it will be damn hard.

You must all realise - Juventus now has an unremarkable team - a team that cannot challenge for a top four finish, now matter how well they gel, they just don't have enough talented players.
There is no team that gets rid of Giovinco and Diego without replacing them with similarly talented players and remains creative, dangerous and hence successful.
Grandpa ADP cannot carry the team for the whole season on his own.
Moratta's vision seems to be to simply avoid relegation.
