IMO marotta is a joke. He still hasnt solved the problem of LB which has been a weak point for years now. He's actively trying to sell trezeguet and diego who are easily two of our most useful players. He signs a nobody in Martinez for 12 million then complains we have no money to spend. If you ask me he was lucky in the Aquilani deal as it was largely due to player circumstance and i speculate his name was raised only because Liverpool took Poulsen. I like Krasic, Bonucci and Aquilani, but that's 3 out of 8 signings that are Juve class. And if he sells Diego and doesn't replace Trez adequately, then we have another Secco.

Damn you must be in those meetings with him.

Of course he will consider offers for Diego if they are made. He's far from untouchable as many here would have you believe.

But that's right, he hasn't fixed all the problems the previous management created in 4 years. Nope he hasn't fixed every single problem in a few months he's had the job. What a joke right? He's given Juve fans more reason to be hopeful than if Secco were still here.

So who would you have chosen to be Juvenus DS since Marotta is so terrible?

its just an opinion, NO ONE here knows the real facts. I dont have a list of names for the new juve DS, but i would have liked someone with a bit of history with the club. Just better than secco doesnt mean its good enough for juve IMO.

Well if none here knows the facts you can't just say he got lucky with the Aquilani deal or that he wanted to offload Trez and Diego. I agree with Showdown25 about Diego, and as far as I know about Trez, he was supposed to leave every summer for the last 6-7 years.

I'd like to say once again, its an opinion. Just some speculation. As most things in football are without an official announcement. I just reckon he fell ass backwards into the Aquilani deal, hence why it was so quickly put through after the Poulsen one. If some people here think it was part of Marotta's masterplan, fair enough, i just don't. He's signed a couple of good players, but too many average ones and not necessarily the ones we need. In My Opinion.

Wasn't it admitted that there was no interest in Aquilani besides ours? Didn't Hodgson claim he wanted Aquilani to go on loan because he wasn't in his plans? 16M option to buy for an oft-injured player who didn't fit in with his new club?

So what's the big deal here? Let me know when some major coup arrives.

Who would you sign in our current situation and with no money?

We have no money? Then why are we signing players for 12-15M and agreeing to buyout options between 9 and 16M?

Krasic and Bonucci I would have signed, but the others like Pepe and Martinez, definitely not.
Pepe's efforts are very appreciated now i think by all of us. Don't forget that he's on loan and we didn't buy it OK ?

Why members here want to jump on anyone who's prepared to critisize a transfer manager for his pretty obvious mistakes is beyond me. I guess its cool to be unjustifiably optimistic and overlook flaws.

He can still be very useful, being over 30 doesn't diminish your ability to finish chances.

The Pepe and Martinez deals are pure examples of what exactly is wrong with Marotta's recruiting tactics - his priority seems to be buying back ups before actual first team players. He wants to ignore the left back position for a back up center back for heavens sake as if Grosso and DC are adequate enough. Its completely non-sensical. He ends up over paying for back ups and we end up having to make concessions on first team choices.

Plus signing Martinez for 12m :sergio: It can't be said enough.

Guilty until proven innocent.
You can appreciate someones good effots and their bad efforts. Its called having a balanced view. E.g - I appreciate Marotta's signing of Krasic and Aquilani while I'm pissed off that he signed Martinez and isn't prioritising in the right positions.

Get off the 'you're all just knee-jerk reacting' band wagon and think criticially.
