Wrong! I expect at least 2 major signings if we get to the Champions league; a promising quality CB with huge potential or an established CB with a solid reputation who is both reliable and injury free, and a stellar RW signing to bench Pepe once and for all. The LB is not going to be a major signing, because I don't really see any standout fullbacks these days; perhaps there are some solid ones, but no one who is really spectacular, unless they are already established and will cost a fortune.
Getting Gio back, acquiring Ramirez from Bologna, a quality starting LB, a quality starting CB, an understudy to Pirlo, and a new striker are not unreasonable expectations over the winter and summer mercatos. 5 new players, and a returning prodigal son

are not unrealistic or lacking in feasibility.
However, my main concern is that we keep adding quantity without looking at quality. We already have a huge squad with a lot of deadwood. What's the point of buying more garbage, giving them 4 year contracts, and then struggling to get rid of them? That's just like adding more garbage to the pile, instead of cleaning up.
I'd rather have a squad with a solid core of 23 players (a mixture of quality and quantity), then 30 players (10 of whom are absolute garbage), especially if we are going to be competing in the Champions League next season.
Although I dislike Montolivo, and am against his signing, procuring him as an understudy to Pirlo makes sense. However, targeting Bochetti makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. He is mediocre, and will not particularly help us in our Scudetto push (although in the end I still believe we will finish behind Milan, as they have far more quality than we do).
