i just can't help contain my excitment.

everything is going well so far from the players to the managment.

also i am not seeing the worrying signs that i saw from the teams udner ranieri, ferrara , zacherroni and del neri..and that itself is a huge, huge advantage.
Under Ferrara we had 12 points in four games (at the moment we have 11 points in 5 games), and we played away to Roma and Lazio (I am not sure)...
I guess it's still early to tell.

There are many differences between teams of the past 2-3 seasons that makes things seem much more positive such as playing style, depth, coach, passion, stadium and XI.

with the exception of the roma game, we did not play well.

also by problems i mean tactical issues, coaching issues..etc.

ferrara's team lacked width and we suffered from horribe defense and horrible fulllbcakcls. our cms were horrible and diego was our only source of creativity. none of our players were mobile. they rarely covered the pitch and thus no one made themselves available for the pass.

same problem we had under del neri and ranieri, raneiri's team benfitted from having a monster del piero and a in form camo, chiellini and zanetti, hence why he did so well. let's not forget these are the same coaches that would defend the draw....

We need to reduce or squad size by selling dead wood like Amauri in January, Iaquinta, etc.

Grosso and Toni's contracts are off at the end of the season.

We need a LB first and foremost. We should sell Krasic if he doesn't perform and trust Elia/Estigarribia/Pepe/Giaccherini for the moment.

We can bring back Giovinco/Immobile for next season as far as strikers are concerned.

If Marotta truly said that, then we are fucked next year, especially if we qualify for the CL.

This squad can barely handle Serie A, let alone CL commitments. As for the quality he is talking about, we will get raped in the CL if we don't add 2 star signings, particularly as we will be placed in pot 3 or even 4!

"there will be no new investment in January or next summer, because we made them this year, greatly increasing the quality of the team, but we will only slight changes", pointed Beppe Marotta. :shifty:

See the thing is that if Marotta had not been so wasteful in previous transfer periods there would be more room for investment in the future. His blunders like the purchase of Martinez aren't something that you just turn a blind eye to because mistakes can profoundly impact the quality of the squad not just in the short term but the long term as well. It doesn't matter if he does well in certain areas. This "oh well he bought Pirlo, Licht etc. so its okay" argument is a big cop out. If a GM makes costly mistakes its not acceptable. We can only hope that increased revenue from the new stadium will make up for these types of mistakes and we can still invest in quality later on.

How can you deduce that from what Marotta *supposedly* said?

Isn't the whole point of us spending lavishly ONCE we make the CL again? I'm pretty sure we will splash the cash on some world class targets if we do get there next season.

“The new arrivals have increased the level of quality. The squad’s already competitive, even if there will naturally be some readjustments in the coming years.” - juventus.com
