I honestly think that Marotta knows nothing about negotiations.

It's the provincial club mentality, you ask 'is there anybody for €X' rather then 'is they a player with XYZ attributes'.

We need a winger for 12m - Martinez
We need a left sided, creative player - Krancjar offer no more than 12m

He didn't even try to look at good players for certain roles he just looked at who he knew that would cost what he could spend. Hence we now have Giacherini for the same price as Ben Arfa.

You offer lower than you are willing to pay and meet in the middle, you don't offer less than they'll accept and hope they cave in...

Liverpool hasn't won their league since 1991, they have been shit for more or less 20 years. We will never suffer the same fate as them
Seriously, what makes you think we won't have a similar faith as they did ?

Don't you think there fans (Liverpool) thought the same as your doing right now back let's say in 1995 and they've said that no way Liverpool will last for 10 years (let alone 20 ) without winning the league title Again !!

I've been around the time when Ajax was considered a giant club in Europe, no one back then thought not in a million years That Ajax will be where they are today ! But it happened.

Anything is possible, A N Y T H I N G. And the way things are going right now within this club ( all the mess we're in) it is even highly likely to happen.

Exactly, and our status is fading with every year we fuck up or fill the team with these unknowns. People can say what they want about having expensive players here but its those players that make the difference, both on and off the pitch. Players, new fans and sponsors go wherever the hype is and there is a reason why Manchester fuckin' City is more attractive than Juventus.

Marotta's moves have all been predicated on taking shortcuts to 3rd place. That's why you see loans and deals for Toni, Giach, Barzagli. Average players familiar with Serie A. Selling Diego immediately and going for Di Natale and then Quagliarella, known players who can score in Serie A immediately. Marotta was hoping they could add just enough quality without breaking the bank to get 3rd and then move from there. They were all band-aids. Some worked ok and some didn't. Martinez was a giant fuck up.

I'll still maintain that our roster last year was good enough for 4th and this year is good enough for 3rd. The coaching has been our undoing. Marotta is hit and miss with transfers like most directors but I'm more worried about his lack of footballing philosophy, being content with handing over free reign to coaches that use tactics from the 50s. Our coaching has done nothing to help or augment our players. Everyone looks terrible in our system except the playmakers or players that can take games into their own hands (Melo, DP, Quagliarella, Chiellini).

"Without breaking the bank". Not only did he break the bank, he fuckin' bombed the bank. When you have 100 million do spend, why try taking shortcuts? Dude is acting exactly like he would if for example Sampdoria somehow got 100 million to spend. Give Sampdoria 100 million to spend and I'll be your sweet ass they'd go for guys like Vucinic, an old Pirlo, Quag and Matri cuz they'd be realistic targets for them.

He sucks monkey ass balls. If somebody told me in the beginning of last years summer that we would spend more than 100 million in the the next two seasons I'd be crying with joy expecting us to be contenders in the league and a threat in the Champions League. Instead of all that, we're still seeing Champions League spot as a success. Who cares about winning the Scudetto when you've just spent 100+ million anyway?

could not agree more....Marotta is yet to sign a world class player with 100m to spend. I dont mind Vucinic, Quags, Krasic, Pirlo, Vidal, Lich, hell i dont even mind Elia...these players are good enough to be in the squad of most of the top teams in each country. BUT, none are world class (Pirlo was), none are going totake us to the next level. And that is what we need. We need these types of players but we need at least 2 or 3 more players above their level.

we have Buffon in goal (fingers crossed he stays fit) and we have Chiellini who can you call world class in defenders terms, but besides we dont have any others.

He spent all this money basically on a whole new team though.

RB - 10M Lichtsteiner
CB - 15M (Bonucci has resale value as we saw with Zenit)
RM - 15M Krasic
CM - 11M Vidal
CM - 0M Pirlo
LM - 9M Elia
ST - 18M Matri, 15M Quagliarella, 15M Vucinic

GK backup - 4.5M Storari
CB backup - 3M Barzagli
CB backup - 130K Sorensen
ST backup - 0M Toni
RM backup - 3M Giach
LM backup - 500K Esti

Fuckups
12M Martinez, 10M Pepe (still has slight resale value as seen with Zenit's interest), 5M Motta.

You guys act like we had a team and then he was given 100M and just dissolved it into thin air.

Last I checked, half our starting lineup is non-Italian. You guys just go overboard with this shit all the time.
