In fairness, I wasn't alive in the 80's. But does this guy knows anything about Juve? We always had an amount of rocking foreigners in our squad. Frenchies like Zidane, Trezeguet, Thuram and Deschamps, I dislike him not buying anything non-Italian. The only he bought is Krasic, and guess what Italy hasn't got any wingers that are good.

Martinez, Traore? The club only takes the whole Italian thing so far, there is no reason to add more and no quota, it's just that for the way Delneri works and sees the game it's easier for him to buy Serie A players and often Italians.

I hate both Del Neri and Marotta. Delusional, one dimensional, inflexible idiots who threaten to transform a once great club into some provincial outfit.

A coach who has won nothing significant in his entire career, and a sporting director who is highly over-rated.

Agreed

But their supporters will try to wow you with stories of their past (but FAILED and FRUITLESS) “accomplishments” with previous clubs.

They are an improvement over what we previously had. Marotta >>> Secco any day of the week.

Ranieri might be a slightly better coach than Delneri but they both aren't anything special. Ferrara with a little Zaccheroni was an insult to this club. What was the point in firing Ranieri if we never had someone comparable or better lined up? Fucked ourselves up the poop chute big time right there. Not to mention Diego as a Pavel Nedved replacement?!?! Insanity. Absurdity. Changing the whole system our players knew for one player. Disaster in the making.

The time to strike was when we first came back up from Serie B. We missed that boat, on more than one occasion and neither Marotta nor Delneri had a hand in our shortcomings for 4 long ass years.

It's ass backwards to make them the scapegoats at this point.

I understand the moans regarding the two heavy defeats at the start of this year, and the fact that we are no better off, points wise, in comparison to this time last year. However, last year was a different championship altogether. Milan were without zlatan and cassano, inter were indomitable...roma more solid...etc etctettctct...so comparing points, is not as useful, for me anyway, as comparing performances and the spirit at the club.

Perhaps some fans have very short memories, or simply...selective memories...so they remember the glory years, but these last few years, the memory banks become foggy. and now, they have suddenly woken up to clear skies, seen that we are no longer one of the top one or two teams in italy, let alone a serious force in europe, and they look to del neri and marotta to blame.

I really cannot see how Marotta can be legitimately criticized. He had an extremely tough job in the summer, an extremely tough job now. in fact it will be extremely tough for another year or two, if all goes well, we get back in the champions league...and from there onwards, he can prove his true value by taking us back to the top.

The performances last season, were the consistently worst i have ever seen of a Juve squad. so many games with zero spirit, zero cohesion, the whole club had its collective head bowed in defeat.

Marotta's job was to reduce the average age, try as hard as possible to clear out some of the dead wood, bring in some players eager for the jersey and to grow and develop into a solid unit. With no champions league money, and many of the players we would like to move on, proving very hard to sell, because they had such shockingly awful seasons, the task for marotta was all the more difficult.

Who did he bring in??? Martinez for a large sum. That transfer, for now, can not be labeled a failure as martinez has suffered injuries nobody could have predicted. He was a very handy player for catania, and I am sure he will be for us, if he can stay fit. At worst, you can say that we overpaid for him...but again, impossible to say yet.
Krasic...the greatest signing we have made since calciopoli fucked us up horridly.
Bonucci...expected price, far from baresi, but certainly very promising. and young.
Motta...loan with option to buy, for peanuts really. a failure (so far), but not a costly one. And nobody could be sure, at the start of the season he was going to prove awful.
aquilani...phenomenal deal. loan with option to buy for less than 'pool paid for him barely 18 months back...
quagiarella...pricey purchase price...but before his injury, a very solid success.
pepe...at times extremely useful, always hard working, not spectacular but gives his all, and has been more of a succes than a failure.
traore...worth a punt, cheap loan. offers pace...again unfortunate with injuries...but hasnt looked as pathetic as many people said he was before he arrived

Not to mention what patrici and marotta have done with sorensen, the camilliri and ilari kids...and this latest young swede.

So...marotta brought down the average age, trimmed the wage bill, signed aqui/quags/fucking KRASIC...ALL of whom have been brilliant. And yet people here still hate him and criticize his work.

Even the Toni signing makes some sense to me. Iaquinta is always injured...Amauri is always injured, and when not injured, plays like he is injured...we have no decent prima punta. Toni took a large pay cut. we have him for 18 months MAX. and obviously he hasn't been signed to replace Quags...as they are completely different types of player.

Motta is the only apparent error so far. Martinez, I hope, will not add himself to that list...but he hasn't done so for now. Its insane for anyone to criticize martinez, when he has barely fucking played...

As for Del Neri...he has definitely improved the spirit of the team. We have played far fewer games, than we did last season, were our collective head was bowed in defeat. There have been major sparks of excitement, so much more obvious togetherness in the squad. he has improved Melo and De Ceglie, both, in leaps and bounds.

we are bang in the mix to finish top four, with 3rd/4th our likeliest aim. and that was our season target.

This season has been so much more enjoyable than last season. and much of the credit for this must go to marotta and del neri.

Even though his posts are quite long, and littered with poor grammar, I still enjoy Lo-Pan's posts. And he does raise some valid points from time to time, too.

I think Secco's four years of chaos has clouded and infected the minds of the FM playing know it alls on these boards.

It's really not some sort of phenomenal feat to decrease the average age of the squad. He let some players go that were always going to leave, and now he ticked the average age back up by signing Toni.

Krasic has been great, which was the expected outcome by most people. I wouldn't say Aquilani has been brilliant as this sort of adjective should be reserved for someone who consistently performs; unfortunately, Aqui doesn't do that. Quagliarella has certainly beaten expectations and has done well, so I'll give Marotta credit for that signing.

But lets not kid ourselves here. Lots of mistakes have been made. Not showing an effort to keep Trezeguet was a mistake, not bringing in better fullbacks is certainly costing us big time now, and of course loaning Giovinco away from the squad will not receive any approval from me (especially when he scores two goals against his own fucking team). Throw in Martinez's transfer sum, leaving us with only four central midfielders in the squad (one of which always plays outside), and selling Diego after only one season, and you've got yourself quite a lot of mistakes to choose from. Perhaps you're letting yourself get carried away by the greatness of Krasic, skewing your judgement when it comes to other decisions.

I give Marotta a C rating. Average. Signing a Barzagli or Floro Fucktard won't improve my rating of him, that's for sure.

even the Toni signing makes some sense to me. Iaquinta is always injured...Amauri is always injured, and when not injured, plays like he is injured...we have no decent prima punta
And now Toni is injured. So what the fluck is so great about his signing? Are you claiming that an injury-prone player becoming injured is unpredictable? :confused2
