Sorta true though in the sense that I believe the 2014-15 squad was better than the 2015-16 squad. Tevez and Vidal were phenomenal, Morata was blooming, still had Pirlo too... the 4-3-1-2 and the 3-5-2 we played didn't really have a single weak spot, aside from maybe Evra and Pirlo who were still both fantastic players. Last year we signed a bunch of great young players, but the lack of Vidal, Tevez, Pirlo etc. really showed at the start of the season and a bit in the CL. But then again, who knows what would have happened with Marchisio, Dybala and Chiellini fit.....

We certainly didn't go backwards though, as Rugani, Dybala, Zaza and Sandro are all signing for the future with great upsides. I'd do with these transfers decisions any day though, as you need to transform the squad with a big hand time to time to keep up.

He has a point, tho its fairly circumstantial still due to the unlucky draw compared to a year before.
It was also meant to be a transition year.

We replaced 3 of our leaders from that fantastic team with young, very high upside players for the future, alongside a few more experienced players to smooth the transition.

And somehow those players performed massively and we ended up having a fantastic transitional season. I melted down at the end of last summer and in that horrific start to the season, but over the course of the season we definitely saw this team didn't fall backwards.

It was more a case of 1 initial step back and 1 step forward by the end of the season. Hopefully this next season or two will show it was a case of 1 step back and 2 steps forward.

Read his 1st post, he thinks we are close to the top clubs and need a few good signings to catch up. Its like people forget about the Bayern games completely and how good we were against a "top team".

Also, you can't say for sure 14-15 team was stronger than the 15-16 one. If we had a Dortmund-Monaco-Real path to the final, do you think we wouldnt make the final again? Likewise, do you think 14-15 team would have beaten this Bayern over 2 games, the ref mistakes included?

Why are you discussing with Cronios little brother ?

In 2016, a commando unit on crack was sent to Tuz by a military court(basically X) for a crime they did commit.
These men promptly escaped from a permaban stockade to the Los Angeles underground.
Today, still wanted by the government(still X), they survive as trolls of fortune.
If you want a headache... if no one else can help... and if you can find them... maybe you can hire...

Not sure if the 15-16 team would make the final. The road to the final in 14-15 was largely due to the amazing midfield, which was arguably the best in the world. The 15-16 lacked the engine and the brains of the 14-15 season, and became absolutely gaping when Marchisio or Khedira went out. No matter how well we did tactically against Bayern the team was pretty much overrun in midfield most of the time, and I'd like to think a Vidal might've changed the outcome a bit.

All just speculation and if's though.

Exactly. One thing is for sure, it would be a close game between two equal teams (14-15 Juve vs this Bayern), and small details would decide the outcome. Same as with what actually happened this season where Bayern got lucky in the end but also had major ref mistakes going their way.

As for this current team, there is no doubt in my mind they would overrun Dortmund (same way they did vs Bayern minus last 20 minutes). Monaco would be tough, but Pogba catched amazing form after the Bayern games, Morata was great too, so i think we would still make it past them. Im not even doubting this team would beatt Real over 2 games

Both teams were great but you can't claim for sure the team regressed. We lost 3 important players but brought in other key players lije AS, Sami, Cuadrado, Dybala and Mandzukic. We improved in other areas

Our subs killed us against Bayern. Didn't have the quality of players thay was needed to come and change it.
Our subs killed them in the 1st leg, and the only reason our subs werent up to it in the return leg is because most of the key ones were starting, while of the ones that went in that game, one was injured and the other was out of form because he just returned from an injury. So yeah, we are still far behind Bayern because we went to Munich without 3 key players, outplayed them, got ref calls against us and went down in overtime. If that doesent scream worlds apart i dont know what is
