No Pogba, Marchisio, Pirlo tonight, Pereyra starting off the bench and still we have good mid, capable of overcoming very decent Empoli side that took points off Viola and Roma in their away games. Dat depth

Marotta: 'Yes Rugani, no Valdifiori'
By Football Italia staff

Beppe Marotta confirms Daniele Rugani will join Juventus next season, but denied interest in Empoli’s Mirko Valdifiori.

The two teams go head-to-head this evening at 20.00 UK time (19.00 GMT), click here to follow our LIVEBLOG.

“Our focus is on this match and three points that are fundamental for our Scudetto campaign,” general manager Marotta told Sky Sport Italia.

“Empoli are a reference point for youth in Italian football and have always churned out some very interesting players.

“Among these is Rugani, who we have bought and will be part of the Juventus squad next season.”

There had been rumours of interest in his Empoli teammate Valdifiori, who at 28 made his Italy debut against England on Tuesday.

“There are players who reach maturity at a more advanced age, like Valdifiori. I recognise his qualities, but at this moment we are not in negotiations for him.”
Great news about Rugani.

Let's see.

No Pogba

No Pirlo

No Tevez

No Buffon

No Barzagli

No Lichtsteiner

No Asamoah

Am I missing anyone else?

Seven starters, yes SEVEN STARTERS from last year either out injured or not playing in a Coppa Italia semi final match away to their heated rival

But we could have subbed all of them with primavera players and invested in genuine top player. :touched:

Before the game :

Marotta trusts in Matri
By Football Italia staff

Juventus director Beppe Marotta believes Alessandro Matri “can play an important role” against Fiorentina tonight.
Matri starts alongside Alvaro Morata in the second leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final, filling in for the injured Carlos Tevez.

“I am confident Matri can play an important role in the tie tonight,” Marotta told Rai Sport.

“Carlitos felt pain in his right thigh, but it’s nothing worrying. The medics suggested it was best not to play him this evening. He will be fit to face Monaco.
“We are Juventus, so we always go out there to win. Against Empoli we confirmed our authority in Serie A, we’re still in the running for three tournaments and it is our duty to face every competition to the best of our abilities.
“Fiorentina are in great form and Vincenzo Montella deserves credit for doing great work as their Coach.”

Every signing he's made this season has been an A even if 25% of the season is still remaining, all of this year's recruits have made sizeable impact.

I think i am in a position now where i cant complain anymore and just watch Beppe and co. run the show.Mistakes do happen(and likely could in the near future, everyone cant be perfect)but positives have outweighed the negatives by a large margin and will continue to do so as far as Marotta's work is concerned.Congrats to Beppe on his contract extension.Paratici as well, one of the unsung heroes in Juve's success thus far.

Signed Sturaro and loaned Matri because he could foresee a time where everyone was injured. :touched:

Fucking Sturaro was like 8th choice CM at the beginning of the year and now is starting some matches for us. The foresight. :touched:

Pogba
Vidal
Marchisio
Pirlo
Pereyra
Asamoah
Padoin
Romulo
Sturaro

He was 9th choice.

BS, maronne , koman and giovinco and many of the players we own could have covered the filler roles of romulo, pereyra and matrix, without any substantial difference and we could have used the extra cash for a starter that could make a difference!

They are not only improving a very good team, they're also building one for the future.

I hope we'll continue pursuing only the finest talents, improving our squad while ensuring quality for years to come.
