Buffon likely to miss Inter clash
Gianluigi Buffon’s injury is worse than previously thought and Juventus veteran Stefano Tacconi believes “he’ll never be the same.”
The shot-stopper suffered a knock to the left shoulder in training on Thursday and has been ruled out of tonight’s game with Genoa.
However, he also risks missing the midweek round against Fiorentina and next weekend’s Derby d’Italia clash with Inter.
Medical reports suggest Buffon will be out of action for around 10 days, so Marco Storari is set for his first game since April.
Arturo Vidal and Emanuele Giaccherini are also out of this evening’s encounter with Genoa due to thigh problems.
Meanwhile, former Juventus star goalkeeper Tacconi has passed a damning judgment on the 2006 World Cup winner.
“I think that as things stand right now Napoli’s Morgan De Sanctis is a better goalkeeper than Buffon,” he told Radio CRC.
“After Gigi’s serious injury and long lay-off, it’s very difficult for him to return to the player he was. He’ll never be the same.”
Buffon was ruled out for almost the entire campaign after surgery to correct a long-standing back problem.
He's not entirely off. Buffon isn't the keeper he used to be, that's for sure. His game has changed. Slowed down and definitely more error prone and less sure of himself. But his presence alone, is a huge bonus.

i highly doubt it has anything to do with jelousy, he is merely pointing out that buffon hasn't looked the same since his injury, a sentiment many including myself share
