Buffon commits future to Juventus
Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has ruled out a summer transfer by committing his future to the club.
Buffon had earlier been linked to a move to Arsenal and Roma, and with the transfer window now open, speculation was expected to intensify.
However, the Italian number one maintains his preference is still to remain with Juventus.
"I never felt dumped by the club, as I'm sure they would have told me first," Buffon told The Sun.
"However, there was a point in the season when I did wonder whether we could continue to work together.
"But then the recent statements confirmed their faith in me."
Buffon was heavily linked with a move to Roma due to his friendship with Giallorossi captain Francesco Totti.
While the Juve custodian admits a move was discussed between the two, he will only leave Juventus if the club no longer want him around.
"He [Totti] is a friend and we talk about a variety of things.
"It's only normal to discuss certain problems and certain possibilities.
"I did talk to him about possibly leaving, but my choice was and will always be Juventus."
Buffon joined Juve from Parma in 2001 for a reported £32.6million, a world-record fee for a goalkeeper, and has stuck by the club even when they were relegated to Serie B following the Serie A match-fixing scandal.
He is also a prominent member of the Italian national team and has been capped 104 times, appearing in the 1998, 2002, 2006 and 2010 World Cups, as well as Euro 2004 and 2008.
