so ken you can comfortably say that buffon has looked on form? storari was excellent up untill buffon returned, since then buffon has been a disaster on quite a few occassions, today being another example. As i said before if we received a decent bid and considering his age at 33, i'd be quite happy to consider it.

a poll in gazzetta in which fans were asked if they wanted storari or buffon to start, buffon narrowly won. which shows that the faith in buffon by his own fans has dropped, a sentiment that i share

If we were to offload every player who has a patch of bad form, we wouldn't have a team to field at all. I've never said he was on form, have I? I realise he's been making mistakes and hasn't been his usual self, but honestly.. he's still the least of our problems. His age isn't as much of a problem for a goalie. Buffon will be fine, which can't be said for the rest of that talentless bunch infront of him.

hell the whole bunch can go for all i care, nobody is indespensible as far as im concerned, if you're not on form, you're not worthy to start or even of the shirt anymore. I'm rather tired of reading of this whole "oh buffon stayed with us through serie B so he should be immortalised" credit to him for his desire to stay, truth of the matter is, while he has some value left and doesnt look like he will ever regain his old form, it would probably be wiser to sell him

Why does he look like he will never regain his old form? Because of a few bad matches?

We're trying to rebuild a team here, which is why you're not supposed to sell the few players who form a solid core to build on. Every player goes through ups and downs and Buffon hasn't got an easy job, with that defence infront of him. He's had some good reflexes and saves over the past couple of weeks aswell, I think he'll be fine in the end. If we start selling the few players with class, quality, I really don't know where this club will end.

I don't quite recall when he started making big mistakes, but you can't expect Superman-form right after such an injury. I'm not happy about his current form either, I still wouldn't sell though.

I usually agree with BD, but this time you are on your own buddy :D
w/e man not asking people to all follow my motion, but if people cant even respect valid opinions of others, and be pathetic enough to - rep them for that, then clearly they have no clue. As i said before im far from pleased about buffon's form, and i somehow doubt he will ever regain his old form, for which is might be an idea to sell him whilst he still has a decent price, wasn't long ago people wanted trez gone, in what way does buffon deserve any more respect than trez? they both played in serie B after all and loyal servants, double standards

The "accept a decent bid" did it for me.
he's 33 and his stocks are still fairly high for someone that age, there is no point keeping someone who is not on form and may never regain that form, it can only make sense if you ask me, and will actually aid the team more with the money from his sale, than actually playing him. As previously stated it wasn't long ago people actually wanted trez gone for exactly the same reason, so what is the difference?
