Dida pens new Milan deal
Nelson Dida has put the transfer gossip and controversy behind him by extending his contract until 2010, confirmed Milan.
The goalkeeper’s deal was set to expire this summer and there were strong reports he had already agreed a switch to Barcelona on a Bosman.
The situation – and his repeated refusal to renegotiate the terms – made for a tense rapport with the club, Coach and especially the fans.
However, this afternoon the Brazilian put pen to paper on a new contract tying him to Milan until June 30, 2010.
The club’s official website also reported that when Dida attended the training session, he was given a round of applause by his teammates upon hearing the news.

Lehmann's error against PSV Eindhoven was nothing short of appalling and of course resulted in Arsenal being knocked out of the Champions League as Alex's effort sailed into an unprotected net.
Quite what Lehmann was trying to do is anybody's guess.
Meanwhile, a bit more guesswork leads me to believe there is more to vice chairman David Dein's meeting with Juventus' Roberto Bettega than meets the eye.
Could it be they were talking about the possible transfer of the best keeper in the world Gianluigi Buffon? (Okay, some have suggested Gilberto will be offloaded to Juve, but I'm having none of it!)
Don't be suprised if Buffon ends up at the Emirates Stadium this summer.

What a load of Bollocks. Arsenal don't have the financial power to spend the kind of money reqired for Buffon, since money is tight there after building the stadium.
Director general Jean-Claude Blanc insists that Juventus are confident Gianluigi Buffon will choose to stay with the Old Lady.
The goalkeeper was one of the players who remained in Turin after the relegation to Serie B, but recent rumors suggested that he might leave at the end of the season.
The player admitted that his future was still uncertain, although he would be glad to stay with the Bianconeri, even if it might take some time to return to the highest levels.
“We have always been optimistic about our chances of keeping him here,” said Blanc after the Board of Directors approved the mid-term development plan.
“There are two main reasons for us to believe this. First of all because we have already spoken to the player and then because we are eager to build a strong team.”
The Board of Directors voted for an increase in capital that will allow the side to make important investments in view of the likely return to Serie A at the end of the current campaign.
“I am sure Juventus will be immediately competitive in Serie A next year. We will mix great champions and young talents,” explained the Bianconero.
“Our main objective is to grow an Italian Ronaldinho at our Vinovo training centre. Today’s decision is another important step in the journey we started nine months ago.
“We started a new philosophy with the constitution of a new Board of Directors and this is a line we want to follow even in the future.
We want to be competitive also at an international level and for this reason we want to confirm Didier Deschamps, who will be our Coach for next season as well,” concluded Blanc.
