Couldn't have saved the shot itself, the only thing he could have done was fly out at Sansone, which would have been risky with him at that speed. Sansone's shot was in the perfect area, anything along the ground a yard or so away from the feet is the hardest type of shot to save. You can't save with your hands there, and it's extremely difficult to save with the feet as. Most feet saves are with the ball directly fired into that area.

Yeah, he was never likely to save it.

Would still have looked for him to spread himself a bit more than he did, though.
