When he was at Fiorentina he wasn't half the striker he's now, but at Sampdoria he started banging goals for fun in his first half-season there. There's no guarantee we'll get Pazzini from Genoa instead of Pazzini from Florence, so I'd only consider some swap deal with our strikers or not-needed players included. We can't afford to risk with 25 millions in cash in our current position.

At Fiorentina in 2007/08 Pazzo started 36 games and scored 9 goals. At Sampdoria he suddenly started scoring twice more than before. There's no guarantee he'll feel this comfortable here. Diego is not Cassano and he may be benched if he doesn't perform instantly. Don't get me wrong, I'm against paying 20+ millions in cash for him, but I wouldn't mind seeing him here. Good player.
