After learning of the broken pact, Walder secretly begins conversing with Tywin Lannister for terms to bring House Frey back as a supporter of the Iron Throne. Tywin also communicates with Roose Bolton and Sybell and Rolph Spicer and develops a devious ploy in which Walder lures Robb to the Twins, under the pretense of an invite to another marriage pact, to allegedly forgive Robb's broken vow.

Notice that most scenes with Tywin Lannister this season have involved him writing in his office. Last season he was also plotting at Harrenhal with Arya listening in.
The Roose Bolton interaction with Jaime earlier this season was also important, notice how he's treated.
Finally you TV show watchers can feel our pain. What you just witnessed was the Red Wedding. It's not RW anymore, it's the Red Wedding.
Oh and BTW, when they came inside and Walder Frey said those words, passing the food around, that was a custom in Westeros; when the Lord Of The House shares his food with you under his roof, you have protection that nothing will happen to you. That was probably the only custom everyone regarded, even up in the North with Craster(that's why Mormont went all bollocks when the Watch rebels killed him). That's why the Stark men were completely surprised and unarmed and suffered the faith they did.
Oh and people should simply not read this thread unless they've seen all the episodes. This spoiler shit is fucking stupid.
The spoiler thing is only for some book spoilers that book readers include. The general rule is that you don't enter this thread without seeing the latest episode unless you want to be spoiled. You can write about the tv show without the spoiler tags.
Robb got what he deserved to be honest. He's too soft to be king. That's why I never fully liked him nor his father. You can't get on top with being honest and trust everyone. What did he expect going to Walder Frey after breaking an oath like that? I felt more sad when they killed the direwolf.
Jon Snow is a fucking idiot for what he did to Ygritte.
Daario is officially the baddest character in the show right now.
The only Lannister worthy of admiration is Tyrion. He remained a semi-honourable man in this "family" even though his relatives did everything they could to break him. That is admirable.
I understand why you hate them, but I like strong characters like them. Love them or hate them, they make this show interesting, unlike the Starks bar Arya.
Starks were strong. They kept their own code of honour in a world ruled by the worst scum. That is much stronger than being just another scum in the Scum Ocean. And it cost them everything which is just tragic.
