I doubt Chelsea will let go of Gallas easily. He's been outstanding this season and is one of the more important players in their squad. With his current form he's one of the best defenders in the world (especially considering he can play all over the back 4).

He is one of the world's best so he fits perfectly to our backline. He wants a new challenge and he wants to leave Chelsea fot this reason. And he is better than Barzagli

Taking Gallas from Chelsea will hardly affect them at all. They'll simply buy more fullbacks, like they always do.

BTW, does anybody know why Wayne Bridge sucks so much lately?

COOL GALLAS WON'T BE RUSHED
By Patrick Haond - Created on 7 Feb 2006

The ears of Juventus coach Fabio Capello may have been pricked after Chelsea defender William Gallas revealed he is in no hurry to sign a new contract at Stamford Bridge.

With 18 months left to run on his existing Blues deal, the Frenchman claims he will not be rushed into making a decision on his future, with the player instead focusing his sights on a continuation of Chelsea's excellent form into the second half of the season.

This latest admission, however, may prompt Juve to step up their interest in a player who has been an integral part of Jose Mourinho's all-conquering side.

"Each things in their right time," said Gallas, responding to questions about his future. "I will negotiate later.

"Today there are only sporting challenges with Chelsea that interest me - it is never good to mix everything."

Gallas admits that he is happy at the Premiership champions but does not care for the unwanted distraction of contract negotiations.

"I am not concerned with my future, on the contrary," added Gallas.

"I have fun with Chelsea and I don't want to be disturbed by rumours about my contract extension."

bring in Gallas and a defender like Barzagli.

Not sure how Masiello and other loaned defenders are doing like Gladstone, but if any are playing well, maybe an opportunity exists for them as well.

With 3 centre backs at the club well in their 30s, Moggi is really playing a fine line again. We saw this blow up a few seasons back when Montero and Iuliano turned into nightmares over the summer.
