To replace Trezeguet, Giovinco really isnt a striker, and Del Piero must play with a box striker, and not be one alone himself, so we need 1 more if we sell Trez.

I would like a third centre forward too, to cover Amauri and Iaquinta who have both had injury problems before. It seemed that Paolucci was wanted for that role but he wants to play regularly so Juve will sell him or use him as a makeweght.

:agree: Paolucci recall could have been useful

I think a 5th striker is unneccesary, what are the chances of Iaq and Amauri being injured at the same time? unlikely in my eyes. And even if they are, change the formation, have Alex or Gio as the lone striker, 2 attacking mids (Diego/Gio or Alex). Easy as that.

unlikely? just check how many times Vinnie has been unavailable for us over the past 2 seasons...and Amauri even though he is a beast, he cannot be expected to manage the workload all by himself, even when he tried his absolute best this season

People talking about what happens if all our strikers get hurt. What happens if just Chiellini gets hurt? Defense is a much greater need.

Exactly, I would rather have someone capable of replacing him than Mellberg. Defence is our main priority, or rather it should be.

Ahmed I see your point, but there is no point wasting 9-10 million on a 5th striker. when we need another CB and a RB IMO.

If the rumors are true about Milan's interest in Amauri, and the ridiculous amount that they are willing to pay to get him, I wouldn't mind seeing that move happen.

My issue is that the one guy that I would have wanted to replace him has already gone to Napoli.

If we sold Amauri for the reported 30 million, the first stop should be to Lyon for Benzema. If that fails Peter Crouch.....

Cash in on Amauri: we wouldn't lose too much, and splash out on a true world class striker.

Villa, perhaps.

Or the other spaniard
That would be silly. There aren't many strikers out there that have as many attributes as Amauri. Sure he isn't as good as Villa, Eto'o or Torres. But he is still very useful as he is a more complete player than the mentioned three.
