IMO D'Ago shouldn't be in the starting eleven. What do you guys say?

I rate Marchisio higher and Sissoko is a given. It depends on the formation of course but nomatter how we play I struggle to find room for him. The season is long though and D'Ago should get a fair share of playing time.

If all healthy:

Camo-Momo-Marchisio
Diego

Lets just see what the team needs and who plays better in the system we use. We shouldn't start Marchisio just because he's Marchisio.

He'll earn his place just like Amauri earned his place in competition with Trez.

Camo is very injury prone and is not getting younger. Sissoko is a card magnet, and then there is the African cup. Zanetti is injury prone. Poulsen's a hot/cold player so far.

It seems that in the long term the midfield is being built around :

Marchisio--Sissoko--D'Agostino

---------Diego---------

with Camo, Sali and Zanetti playing when we need more European experience.

My first pick would be Marchisio, but season is very long, and he would get plenty of chances too.

Although I agree with you, I would so want for Marchisio to start and to become a legend. Thats not a rational argument, thats just what i feel :)

Why do we need to have a definite best XI?

Why not just take it on a game by game basis depending on the opposition and the condition of our players?

I think camo will find it tough to stay healthy all season but if he isn't then d'ago is a go for the starting eleven.

Otherwise I see marchisio/d'ago competing for spots if camo is fit and sissoko too. But if d'ago is successful linking defense and offense, something our mids couldn't do then he might be starting. Also linking up diego will be critical.

Anyone with brains knows that our midfield was transparent last year when trying to build up the attack cuz our defense just played long balls with not immediate options in front of them bypassing the mids. D'ago will be able to sit back and just deliver balls on a silver platter to those that can score along with diego too. He would have great cover with momo and marchisio with a solid back spine behind him to play his game. I really like this move because we can play so many versatile formations. Pretty much for whatever any given game calls for. Let's make this deal:weee:
