Juve renew D'Agostino bid

Gaetano D’Agostino is back in the frame for Juventus in an £8m deal, but Atletico Madrid’s interest in Cristian Molinaro is key.

The Udinese midfielder was already so close to joining Juve in the summer before negotiations collapsed in a row over his price-tag.

They went for Felipe Melo instead and he has been disappointing so far this season, so there are reports of a renewed interest in D’Agostino.

There is tension between the midfielder and Udinese, so a split is more likely than ever at the Stadio Friuli and poor form has reduced his price-tag significantly.

Juve are ready to offer £8m plus a player on loan with Molinaro the favourite to make the switch.

Atletico Madrid enter the fray, as there are reports in Spanish newspaper As that they have already agreed a deal to take Molinaro to La Liga.

Other alternatives for Udinese include Sebastian Giovinco, Paolo De Ceglie and co-ownership of Davide Lanzafame.

I dunno. Let's see what Bettega thinks. Before I would say Ledesma would be closer. Now I don't know. Zapater's name is also coming up.

well...look at it this way. At least we won't pay as much as they wanted last summer and we will finally have a deep lying playmaker that can actually distribute a fucking pass from midfield. I am too lazy to find my old posts from summer...but I would love to say a big I TOLD YOU SO if this happens.

Meh Marchisio is capable, but Ciro's wisdom tells him he must use Melo in the deep role.

I am going to go ahead and throw myself under the bus here and agree with you. I think Marchsio could do it, but I'd give him another season or two under his belt before he is comfortable in the role. He still makes some silly mistakes (bad passes I mean) but damn the kid is good and yes, I could totally see him in that role should Ciro have faith in him there.

What I like about Marchsio is his confidence. He at least tries the difficult passes every now and then, and that is what I mean when I say give him a couple more years to really grow into the role with experience. His passing will only get better.

A big I told you what? D'Agostino has been bad/below average this season.

So has his team. So has the replacement we paid 25 million dollars for when we couldn't spend 16m to get him. So has our team. So has Diego. So has a lot of other points I could make. What is your point? That he couldn't have been exactly what we needed? As much as we complain about our midfield not being able to pass I sure as hell would have loved a player like him with the completion pass ratio that he had last season.

Melo has been a flop when asked to perform a role different to what he does for Brazil, and what he did for Fiorentina. The midfield above all other areas suffers the most, visibly, when the team is in disarray because their job is to both defend and attack. The forwards NEED the midfield to supply, the defence NEEDS midfield to cover...Camo looked wicked, for a month. Gio sparkled, yet wasnt given enough time in the offensive trident to get a decent run of form going. Marchisio was wicked in fleeting patches, but when the rest of the team went down, so did he, however much potential he has, however many juventuz members want to fuck him...he has been piss poor for much of his time on field. Poulsen??? He had maybe several games where he didn't make his usual 100% error rate, but still...hardly what you would call 'decent form'. Diego...???Less noticeably poor than Melo, and the other midfielders, mainly because he clearly has better technique on the ball, than everyone else in the starting XI.

Truly, I don't see Melo as more of a flop than the team, with Buffon, CHiellini, and Trezeguet excepted...as they have all been fine.

Perhaps in the last few games he has been more mentally afflicted than the others, still trying to perform a playmaker like role from the base of midfield, and fucking up 9 times out of ten...but I am quite sure that he is been asked to play this role. When really, he wants some muscle next to him, and to be able to play the ball simply, and act as an anchorman, not regista...

Poulsen is shit, he always has been for us. And no matter what manager we get, I still assume he will be shit...Melo, and Diego, on the other hand, under a different manager, will be superb, or at least, solid and dependable.

If we are talking about poor form, then Amauri has been equally awful, perhaps worse, as some of the chances he has been presented with, I reckon Melo would have put them away...even Molinaro would have nicked a couple.
