Actually it’s not that simple. Roles depend on tactics and because of that roles you need balance. Not every player can adapt to every role that’s why certain players do great or are reborn under certain circumstances and coaches.

For example McKennie will always get into the first eleven in our team because it is not such quality (our team) but also because players like him offer a certainty and flexibility without disturbing the rest of the squad and complement good with the other players and tactics/roles.
