Reports: Del Neri agrees Juve deal
Thursday 13 May, 2010
Gigi Del Neri is said to have a deal with Juventus and could be confirmed as early as Monday, according to reports.
The Sampdoria Coach has hinted he would be interested in the job after Alberto Zaccheroni’s contract expires.
Although staying with the Blucerchiati would allow him to potentially take part in the Champions League next season, Del Neri looks to be heading for Juve in the Europa League preliminary round.
‘Gigi, Europe is more beautiful in colour than black and white,’ read a banner at the Blucerchiati training ground today.
The reports suggest that Juventus will confirm the appointment on Monday in their extraordinary board meeting.
It will also mark the introduction of Andrea Agnelli as the new President, replacing Jean-Claude Blanc.
Current Sampdoria director general Beppe Marotta is also set to come in for the Juve revolution.
These reports have irritated the Blucerchiati, who released a statement this morning pointing out “this club is not a supermarket and never will be.”
