Oh damned not Del neri.
First of all,comparing him to lippi's position isn't that good. simply bcuz we've seen what he's capable of. he's nothing more that a mid table coach.there are plenty of them at serie a mihailovich,cosmi,... who might one season do good, one season shitty.Our BOD back at that time might have seen something special, some spark of genius at lippi that they hired him. imo del neri is not that guy.
secondly we're not in a position to take risks anymore, if the new coach fails again we would be in a huge mess plus the club's reputation would be massively damaged.
Nobody would want to have anything to do with our mess, we might as well end up with one mediocre couch after another.

We need a sure shot.

Don't you think Hitzfeld is a suitable man for the Juventus job? I saw a new facebook page today that is suggesting Hitzfeld to be the next Juventus manager and I think that this is a great idea. I don't know how this is not an option for the Juve leaders?

They are considering Del Neri now, he would be just another Zaccheroni, Ferrara and Ranieri.

I suggested Hitzfeld a while ago...And am happy to see ANY rumours of the move being a real possibility. He would be my first choice. A tactically clever nazi. He would prove terrifying and efficient. Perhaps he could persuade Moller and Kohler out of retirement???

Though...it seems more likely, to plump for an italian coach. I don't think that we are looking for someone on the cheap. Times are changing. Andrea Agnelli knows, i am certain, that huge renovation is required, and also intelligent investment. The mistakes of hiring a young, unproven manager, are plain for all to see this season. I highly doubt we will make the same mistake again. especially if Bettega and Marotta have any say in our managerial possibilities. Because they both know football...Whereas Blanc and Secco don't know football.

I remain unsure though, of what exactly Bettega does for the club???

Prandelli would be worth a roll of the dice. Gasperini also...if we are talking of italians. Lippi would come too late to make the most of the Summer. We need to get a new manager sorted as soon after the season ends as possible. Also MArotta confirmed...he may not be our messiah, but he will certainly be a huge improvement over what we have had since Moggi was...ummm...escorted of the premises!

Prandelli seems to be the only reasonable choice of all the italian coaches, but you said it yourself:

I don't want Lippi. Lippi lost his mind and lost his magic and he's an old fashioned coach that has his "favorite" players that are not necessarily the best players. I want to remind you that Lippi was the man that suggested Ferrara to be the Juventus coach and then suggested Grosso and Cannavaro (total failure). Lippi is also the man to called Camoranesi and Gattuso to the World Cup - two players that had a awful season this year.

I think that Juve must not think only about Italian coaches and this is why I'm a supporter of this page (that I showed you earlier).

yeah, Lippi was different than Del Neri, because we have hindsight, and so we know that he was the right choice. The naivety in here is incredible.

Will we ever learn that since nobody of us (i assume) really knows anything about coaches apart from what is shown to us in public, we can have preferences but never informed preferences. Do we know how coaches work in training? What their priorities are? What their man management skills are? How able they are to motivate the players? Etc. etc. etc. We know little about these things.

What we know about is the expression that a certain group of players of other teams gave to coaches' work. Prandelli had a difficult season. Isn't he the same coach that brought European football to Viola with a 15 point deduction? Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. It never is the complete fault of the coach though. There are so many other factors that we cannot phatom that influence the course of a season. You can never know how a coach's work translates to our set of players (and potential acquisitions) and the context of our club.

There are few coaches like Capello, Mourinho and Hiddink who have achieved success wherever they went. It seems obvious that without CL it is very difficult to lure those kind to Juventus. So we are going to have to make a gamble with a coach. Hopefully it is an informed gamble with a high potential for success. There really are no guarantees. Hell Russia's Hiddink didn't qualify for WC. What would we say if he came and we still finished out of CL zone?

What I'm saying is, let's all stop pretending to be know-it-all oracles and see how things go. Del Neri could be a flop, or a hit. Who knows? There is never any certainty of outcome. Never.
