Former Juventus president Giovanni Cobolli Gigli has told the club to consider bringing back Claudio Ranieri or Didier Deschamps.
Deschamps, who has just won the French title with Olympique Marseille, coached the club during the 2006-07 season when he led them back into Serie A following the Calciopoli verdicts.
He was replaced with Ranieri after just one season, and the current Roma boss was sacked towards the end of last term.
Cobolli Gigli has now said the decisions to allow both coaches to leave are regrettable. And he has encouraged the club to take a look at them for life after Alberto Zaccheroni.
"As a fan I have always admired [Marcello] Lippi. But, frankly, I have to say that regarding the coaches from the past, Deschamps won the title in France, and Ranieri is doing excellent things with Roma," Cobolli Gigli told Sky Sport 24.
"Therefore, the choices we had made, but never went forward with, they were good ones.
"Therefore I would like to see the club move forwards with the coaches we had in the past."

Deschamps spent five years with the Bianconeri as a player in the 1990s before returning to coach them in Serie B in 2006.
He got Juventus promoted back to the top flight, but left after just one season, citing differences with the board.
Deschamps got back in the management saddle last summer, taking over another of his former clubs, Marseille.
Earlier this week, he led OM to their first League title in 17 years.
When asked about reports linking him with a second stint in charge of Juventus, Didi said: “Never say never. But at the moment I find myself well in Marseille and I intend to stay here.
“Benitez would be a good choice for the Old Lady, like Ranieri and I would have been. I don't know if there are special characteristics [required for working in Italian football]. A Coach can be good everywhere.
“English football is different from Italian football. There is a Manager-Coach role. I believe that Benitez is among the best trainers.”

His team is already 1 point away from the greatest Barcelona team (perhaps ever in that club history). So i wouldn't say he failed, infact i don't think anyone else would've done a better job than him.
Even Mourinho who everyone is creaming ATM about. His Inter team last season was embarrassing in Europe.
If Madrid officials have any brains left in their heads, they should keep him for atleast another year.
