Did i not say that he was the worlds best manager?
The preceding and following words in that sentence denoted that you believed him to have only attained such a position thorugh finnancial clout, and that it would fade were the money taken away.

The rest of my pos tis still valid :p

Thats bullshit, name me a known talent we bought these past few years other than Nasri??

Was Adebayor known before he came to Arsenal, mind you when we bought him he wasn't even that good in the Ligue. How about Sagna? I'm sure you were aware of his talent before he came to Arsenal. Flamini? He was a world class talent before he came and played for us and shut players like Kaka out of the game. Vermaelen? I'm sure you expected him to have this monster season too. What about Song? You must have been well acquainted to him while he was at Bastia. Lets not forget Clichy, i bet you were watching his games week in week out when he was at the Ligue 3, ey?
You know players like Overmars, Anelka, Petit & Lungberg were WC talents before they arrived at Arsenal & they were bought for record amounts.

Also Wenger only caught on with bringing in foreign players after other clubs did it.

The plain matter of fact is that the EPL had predominantly UK based players with a few foreigners in teams. UK players were damn expensive & Wenger took the time to actually scout, watch & personally see to it to convince foreign players to join Arsenal.Hell he even helped players assimilate. He goes the extra mile to make a youth prospect feel wanted & part of his long term plan.

We're talking about kids. Walcott for example. Flamini was known in France while Sagna was the best RB in France back then.

It's possible but very difficult to get a cheap quality experienced player
It's impossible to get a cheap quality 17 year old experienced player.

Let's not forget that Vermaelen was £10M, that could have landed Hangeland or similar but Wenger wants youth regardless of finnancial pressure.

Nasri was 15.8 M aswell, finnancial constraints my cock
List these cheap, quality experienced players? For a 17yr old to be an experienced player he would have had to play first team football for a top flight team at the age of 14/15.So yeah that aint happen.

Do you know the intricate details of why Hangeland didn't join Arsenal? Until you provided proof you're just thumb sucking.

How do you know that Nasri's transfer fee wasn't paid in installments? You simply don't like Arsenal & it's pretty evident.

I said possible but very difficult :D, if you're trying to say that Wenger and his network of scout couldn't do it then you're being naive.

Does anybody except a select few know those reasons? it wasn't as if the rumors materialised and the deal broke down at the 11th hour. Hangeland was there, so was Vermaelen, Vermaelen was singed instead of Hangeland it'd be impossible to stell how close the club was to getting him, as in nearly every other transfer on the planet.

I was unaware that only Samir Nasri could have a transfer payed in installments I must have missed the meeting where they changed the rules to only include young players.

I've never withheld my dislike for Arsenal, and never will. I've explained it on several occassions. So essentially what you've done is try to discredit my points by making erroneous statements that can't stand up of their own accord.

Then one has to question Wengers judgement if he sells such influential players then, difference being Wenger considered those players to be not good enough anymore.
Most of those players wanted to move on, there was nothing Wenger could do about it.

Wait, are you seriously suggesting that Hangeland would have been a better signing than Vermaelen?

Thomas has been one of the best centerbacks in the league this season, just the thought of you comparing the two players makes me want to end this discussion right now.

Reminds me of the times when people here called Barzagli the next Cannavaro :howler:

Hangeland last season was fantastic no doubt about it but Vermaelen has adapted really well and as Fred has said arguably one of the best CB in the league.

I know you did & that's why i asked you to list them. I never said Wenger & his scouts couldn't do it but your being naive in thinking that any club is gonna let an experienced player leave for a massive club like Arsenal for chump change.Big teams get milked by smaller teams & we all know this.

I do expect you to know because you're coming off as an all things Arsenal expert. My point is you make judgements about choosing Vermaelen over Hangeland but you don't know if Fulham wanted to jerk Arsenal around & ask for more.Anyway Vermaelen>>>>>Hangeland.:D

I never knew that you didn't like Arsenal,so unfortunately that news for me. I just drew my own conclusion.

To go back to the begining, the 'Chump Change' you're talking about is not the case entirely, compared to berbatov, yes, chump change but 10M and 15.8M etc. Now Arshavin was around 16M, a proven experienced player so the gap of 2,00,000 between him a Nasri would lead me to believe that it can be done. I also can't list players that would go for X because I'm can't tell the future and I'm not Mark.

Not too much point in continuing this, given fudemental disagreements over value and ability of certain players/clubs. :pint:

Really? I thought everyone knew. I've actually detailed why as well, not just presenting hatred.

Hah, that list. Nearly too good to be true.

One thing with Mancini, is that he would choose Barzagli over Chiellini. I'd like to know wtf he's thinking with that.
