But he managed to take fiorentina to Uefa cup semi-final two years ago and he was just one step away from making it to the final (if they were bit lucky) and still manged to qualify to the champions league the same year.

I think the guy is just underrated in this forum. Yes he didn't win "yet" but it would be almost an impossible task to win anything with Fiorentina even with a brilliant coach there.
Exactly.

The problem is everyone in here don't want Italian couches because of their "boring tactical and defensive" approach yet benitez is one of the very few foreign coaches who have exactly that !!

How come guys here wants him ?!

How about Didier Deschamps? remember that guy? He left the club because he wanted certain players. I think one was Yaya Touré and if I'm not mistaken also Anelka.

He said in an interview the other day that he wanted to build this Juve with youngsters(He did that in B) and add 3 great players.

That's were the problem started.

I know, they surely won't call him.
They obviously won't call him, because people like this board are stubborn. Heaven forbid we have a coach who got to a CL final and let him develop a team. I remember we wanted Mavuba and Givet back when DD was coach though didn't we? :p

How dare a coach have freedom to do what he wants with his fucking team, not be the puppet of those without a clue.

Yeah, I remember those rumours. A good GM would tell him to forget those guys and buy better players but wouldn't have him "leave" the club for that reason.

Lol, I was googling Benitez and the second option that came up was "Bentiez signings"

These are the flops they name: Josemi, Antonio Nunez, Morientes, Kromkamp, Mark Gonzales, Bellamy, Babel, Pennant, Robbie Keane, Charles Itandje, Paletta, Degen, Dossena, Pellegrino, Voronin

There has been the likes of Kromkamp, Josemi, Nunez, Pennant, Bellamy, Itandje, Paletta and Dossena though.
Josemi - 2M GBP
Nunez - 1.5M GBP
Kronkamp - Part exchange for Josemi
Itandje - Undisclosed, signed for peanuts
Palletta - 2M GBP
Dossena - 7M GBP
Bellamy - 6M GBP, sold for 7.5M GBP for a profit of 1.5M GBP

OK, so we have a bunch of players who came for cheap that were used as fill ins like Nunez, or were young risks. Dossena was obviously a poor signing because of the price and his inability to settle, but the others came for practically nothing or were sold for a profit.

I don't see what the big deal is. Folks act like he spent a fortune on these players.

Degen and Voronin were free. The former had a great Euro tournament.

What about Keane,Babel,Johnson,Riera,Pennant,Morientes and Garcia?

Maybe not expensive, but not value for money, I certainly wouldn't defend the signing of Legro, which although cheap was a waste of wages etc.

We should consider getting Prandelli IF we fail to sign either Benitez or Blanc first. I am not a fan of italian coaches but his football is different than other italian one's.

It's definitely time for a change now.

Yeah, I don't know why people make those lists. I don't want to list our flops, really. The list would be as big as my penis.

EDIT: There, Mark listed it. Just like my penis, not erected. :D

We know we're in a shitty state, it's not a comparison. But these signings are one of Benitez' flaws. And I do want him here.

Mellberg - Free. Had one decent season.
Poulsen - Good player but wages are too high.
    Knezevic
    Cannavaro
Felipe Melo - If he's given the chance, I think he'll prove himself here.
    Diego - Not a flop.
Paolucci - Brought back here in an emergency.
    Grosso
    Amauri
Caceres - I don't like him but I thought others did.
    Candreva - He's a flop already?
