Juventus president Jean-Claude Blanc stressed focus must be on present matters, denying reports he has been trying to lure Cesare Prandelli from Fiorentina.

Blanc walked into the Lega Calcio offices with a spring in his step after the 3-1 Europa League win against Fulham. He emphasised the need to maintain the progress, leaving off pitch discussions for another day.

"Prandelli? We are focusing on this season, and we have never contacted or met him," the Frenchman told the press.

"The fruits of group work are being picked, and [Alberto] Zaccheroni has quality, tranquility and professionalism."

Prandelli set for renewal
Friday 12 March, 2010
Cesare Prandelli has come out to deny any link to Juventus and to reiterate his wish to stay at Fiorentina.

The Viola boss claimed that he is ready to sign a five-year renewal with the Gigliati.

“I would just like to make a simple comment,” said Prandelli.

“And I feel kind of shy to make this sort of claim because it is not in my style to do so. I have done nothing similar in the past five years at Fiorentina.

“I am here and I am ready to sit down with the board and discuss a contract renewal.

“I am ready to renew my contract by five years if needed.”

There have been plenty of rumors regarding the future of Prandelli, who has been linked both to Juventus and la Nazionale.

Even sporting director Pantaleo Corvino urged the coach to reveal his plans for the future.

“No more discussions and rumors please,” added Prandelli.

“I have been pretty clear now. As I said, I am here and ready for Fiorentina.”

Hypothetically, lets say Zach gets us the Europa League and the 4th place. On top of that, we also end up playing well and also stay consistent. Maybe not free flowing football, but generally good play like what we saw yesterday. Would you want him to stay or get Prandelli? (Again, assuming Prandelli is the only one available).
Get Prandelli. Zacherroni tenures always end in tears, and not the happy kind.

Granted, Fiorentina has had a rough time this year, but to me, a lot of it has to do with bad fortune, including losing arguably your best player (Mutu), and let's face it, being absolutely robbed in the Champions League. I don't think that anyone can dispute that. really, since he's been there, this has been their only "down" season, yet they still made it to the knockout stages in the CL, and should have advanced.
If one can use injuries to justify Prandelli's year, then the same can be said about Benitez. He's had a ton of injuries to deal with this season in all departments, especially the loss of having Torres on the sidelines. Gerrard, Skrtel, and Agger have had injury problems as well.

He just proved to me what a loser he is. He doesn't have the stomach to handle the pressure that managing a top club brings.

Finally! Do you know the feeling of relief you get when peeing after wanting to do that for half an hour or so? Well, Prandelli saying that he's not coming to Juve is even more of a relief.
