Its not like Serie A is some unknown league.

Plus Rafa is on a completely different level than Prandelli, you might as well say you'd prefer Zacheronni to Ferguson because the former knows the league better.
And Inter won't sign Mou as their coach to replace Mancio because Mou doesn't know Italian League before.. Prandelli is a good coach, and i like if we can get him. But i won't exaggerated though. History and statistical, he is not even better than Ranieri. If you compare the match between those two or even the achievement (either with Ranieri with Roma or Juve, and with Parma), i said Ranieri is doing better. Also Ranieri has experience in Spain and English League that should have enrich his tactical skill.. But i know, Prandelli is a likeable person.

I prefer Benitez than Prandelli for the option but i don't think he will come too anyway. Do you think Pool will sack Benitez? I don't think there is a good candidates for their coaching position right now

Lets assume, zacch wins us the europa and finishes 3rd in the league then what? Do we still look for a coach or do we hand our team over to him?

This will have to be assessed in the final games of the season.. id really like to see how he shapes up this team. I know he is a has been, but if the guy has some vision and get some cahounas + no other coach available then he to can be a gamble..

Yeah of course, that's why I was implying, if he can get us a trophy and an automatic cl qualification then he deserves to stay. I mean, he just might be the coach that works for us, doesn't have to be a household name.

Benitez is proving that he is both incapable of prolonged management at the highest level and stubborn in his tactics and selection, the way in which Prandelli has crafted his side is magnificant, Marchionni going toe to toe with Bayern ffs!
Judging by your logic, then Lippi could be considered incapable long-term as well. In 2004 we struggled in Serie A because our stubborn tactics didn't work out, Legro was a disaster purchase and the rest of the elderly defense was not addressed.

Zach will be given the job, surely.
Hypothetically, lets say Zach gets us the Europa League and the 4th place. On top of that, we also end up playing well and also stay consistent. Maybe not free flowing football, but generally good play like what we saw yesterday. Would you want him to stay or get Prandelli? (Again, assuming Prandelli is the only one available).

both coaches are doing a beautiful job at their teams ...it's a joy to watch bordeaux and om...maybe paying the proper money didier or laurent can change their mind..but we're cheapskakes so we will end out with prandelli.

Here is my take on this, as the argument now seems to be Benitez vs. Prandelli.

I am a fan of Benitez, yes, as he has been able to accomplish quite a bit with less money than a manager at Man United or Chelsea receives for a transfer budget.

However, the money he at one time received, and still receives now, is far more than Prandelli ever, ever had or has, at Fiorentina. prandelli, for the most part has had to make Filet Mignon out of hamburger

Now that Benitez has virtually little to work with in the way of funds, you see what the results are for him and Pool. Honestly, not very good. So now it comes down to coaching, nurturing young players, and getting the best out of castoffs and rehabilitation projects.

To me, Cesare has it in spades over Benitez. I've made no secret about the fact that I've wanted Prandelli here since Calciopoli, so obviously this post is going to be laced with bias.

Granted, Fiorentina has had a rough time this year, but to me, a lot of it has to do with bad fortune, including losing arguably your best player (Mutu), and let's face it, being absolutely robbed in the Champions League. I don't think that anyone can dispute that. really, since he's been there, this has been their only "down" season, yet they still made it to the knockout stages in the CL, and should have advanced.

If we are to judge a coach solely by one bad season, then Ancelotti should have never been allowed to step on a touchline again after what happened during his time at Juventus. Can anyone honestly argue against the fact that he is possibly one of the top 5 club managers in the world??

I'm certainly all for Prandelli coming here, especailly given his track record with La Viola. They had as bad a situation as anyone when Calciopoli came about, and he not only righted that ship, he led them to success that most provincial/semi major clubs would kill for.
