Why should Real fire Pallegrini? he is a good manager that gives them good results. they are 2 points shy from Barcelona which are in 1st place and to be that close to this tremendous Barcelona and might even pass them with time

Real have a reputation of firing great coaches.... If Lyon manages to go through and they don't catch Barca, he is probably gone. Wrong? Yes, but I think it'l be like that.

Being a poor transfer-man is a valid argument against him,but what people ignore is the fact that HE had control over who he wanted in England.In the EPL,the coach decides who he wants etc.In the Serie A,it's different.It's the board that does so.Benitez won't have so much liberty as he did at Liverpool,so the chances of poor players being signed would come down.

Prandelli > Blanc > Benitez

Benitez could be the easiest to get or the hardest to get and that depends on two things, I believe: whether Liverpool qualify for the CL and whether the Real Madrid job is available.

I would also point out that whether or not Juve qualify for the CL could have a significant impact on who they can hope to attract to the club.

Do keep in mind,that there's a difference between a signing a poor player,and a good player not hitting form.People end up putting both of these in the same basket.

Benitez guided two consecutive clubs to European final victories, yet some folks don't think he's good enough for Juventus. Nothing but predictable on JuventuZ.

I dont think Benitez aint good enough for Juventus. Id be very very happy if we get Benitez.. I voted for Prandelli, because I like the way he plays, and because I dont think this board is smart enough to convince Benitez to join us!

Benitez has the most experience and has won the most trophies out of this list of managers. He's probably the best one on the list and somewhat realistic as well if Liverpool decide to take another path after this season. If they do, then we should go for Benitez.


Blanc has transformed a team that used to finish between 12th to 6th into a consistent title contender. In his first season with the club, they didn't even ask him to challenge for the title, they were hoping for UEFA Cup qualification, but he was the first to challenge Lyon until the last round. In his first season he got 2nd place only 4 points behind Lyon. His second season he won he league, now its his third season at the club, and barring any surprises it looks like he's going to win the league again and he might go far in the CL too.

I think Blanc has proven his credentials already, his team has been on a steady improvement ever since he took over. He is a tactically accomplished coach that is really good at building successful effiecient teams. The tactical setup he uses at Bordeaux which is a 4-2-3-1 that becomes a 4-1-3-2 during the match has proven to be really effective.

Brilliant coach if you ask me, he is definitely worthy of a big club.

That's the reason I voted for him ahead of Benitez. I didn't watch Bordeaux before this season but I tried to follow them more, and I did, this year.
Blanc is very intelligent coach and I was amazed how he reads the game and the opponent.
Building a team and doing good with it can sometimes be a fluke, but the way he controls his team during the match and makes the changes depending on what's happening on the pitch isn't a fluke. It tells that the man knows what he's doing.

Another thing that I noticed about Bordeaux is that their play is a mixture of a solid but boring Chelsea or Capello's Juve, with the complete opposite of it - this so called modern attacking football. He created a team that can adapt to different situations and that's why I'd like to see such a coach here. What happened in Italy in the last 4-5 years shows that a different kind of football is winning in Italy than the one winning in CL. In Bordeaux I see both these kinds of football and I believe that it's Blanc's touch.

Good perspective, thanks guys. I don't watch much of Ligue 1 and from what I've seen in the CL, I've been very impressed and I agree with everything you said about how he controlled the club tactically and sustain their performance.

But Fred your point about how the club didn't expect anything from him in two seasons gives me the indication that there wasn't much pressure on him to perform. So he could create, develop and implement these plans without this huge pressure to perform and deliver.

My inclination a bit is that he will take a bit more to build this team and if he comes in then we shouldn't at least expect to win. I don't know if that could be provided which could be shame as hes one of the better ones.

I think its more about what we expect out of him in that role. We had Moggi who wasn't only great in his job in terms of finding and getting players but was a big and strong personality with experience to back the team. Secco might be average in the first part but he certainly isnt in the second.

5 years back Benitez had CL winning team, Liverpool where on the top. At that time Prandelli started to train a team that where struggling to avoid relegation. Since then Benitez has wasted God knows how many money to build and rebuild and rebuild his team time and time again, but Liverpool right now is nowhere near the top where they were before 5 years. While Prandelli have kept overachieving with Fiorentina and if not for the Calciopoli, Viola would've finished at TOP4 in four consecutive seasons. Apart from Inter none of the teams in the last 5 years have been able to do so (we might be there too if not for the same shit). This year they met each other face to face and Benitez got his ass kicked. Could anyone imagine that before 5 years? We don't have the financial resources nor squad Liverpool has, what makes you think Benitez may succeed here if he has been a Ranieri for Liverpool for 5 years now? Prandelli may not mean success right away, but Benitez is even bigger risk, since he would ask for expensive transfers, big salary and long contract. I can easily see how one can pick Prandelli over Benitez.
