    Prandelli says yes to Juve

Tuttosport understands that Fiorentina boss Cesare Prandelli has agreed to take the Juventus job this summer.

It's no secret that the Bianconeri are looking for a big name to replace Alberto Zaccheroni at the end of the season.

The likes of Guus Hiddink, Rafa Benitez and Fabio Capello have all been mentioned, but the favourite is said to be Prandelli.

Tuttosport claims that Juventus made contact with Prandelli over a month ago, simply calling the 52-year-old to ask whether he will be available or not.

Prandelli is also said to have rekindled his relationship with Roberto Bettega, Juventus's vice-general manager, with whom he hadn't spoken for years because of an 'old misunderstanding'.

However, what makes Prandelli's change of scene all the more likely is the fact he has apparently already spoken with Juventus's lawyer Michele Briamonte about the prospect of a three-year contract with the Turin giants.

Nothing has yet been signed, but Prandelli has hardly discouraged Juventus's overtures.

The Bianconeri have allegedly unveiled their plans for the future, which are said to comprise of a €50m transfer budget.

Prandelli still has a year to run on his existing deal with Fiorentina, and Juventus will now have to intervene to smooth over his move north.

@Andy: The best coach in the world to coach us soon.
I'm not so sure it's a reliable news. In fact, I think it's all BS. Tuttosport never gets things right and plus, this time there aren't even any quotes in the article. They just threw it out because Viola got kicked out of the CL but I don't think Viola would give him away.

    Corvino gives Prandelli ultimatum

Cesare Prandelli “must tell Fiorentina if he is no longer in sync with the club,” warns transfer guru Pantaleo Corvino.

The Coach has been linked with both the Juventus and Italy jobs, while the Viola lie in 10th place and were knocked out of the Champions League.

“Why shouldn’t Prandelli be the Fiorentina Coach next season? We both have the same length of contract, until July 2011,” replied Corvino.

“The club owners have already confirmed there are no different plans and have never said they are unhappy with Prandelli or me. In fact we have a meeting scheduled for the spring to discuss an extension.

“Cesare has said many times he wants to be part of the history of Fiorentina. The plans have not changed, there is nothing to discuss.

“If he is no longer in sync with the club, then he is the one who has to tell us.”

It looks increasingly unlikely that Fiorentina will qualify for the Champions League next season, but Corvino won’t hear of downscaling the club’s ambitions.

“We have 20m Euros for wages and until the new stadium and training centre are built, we will continue on this path. There will be no dismantling or downscaling.

“We have been competitive in these years thanks to the economic sacrifices of the owners, not just because of the Coaching staff. We can grow if resources come from other places.

“Reaching the final 16 of the Champions League was very satisfying for everyone. Now we must begin again in terms of motivation and focus on Serie A and the Coppa Italia, where we’ve suffered due to playing so many competitions this season.

“The era of this Fiorentina is not over. It’s a team that can get back on track and target new heights.

“After all, in the last two years we lost only two UEFA Cup games, both on penalties to Everton and Glasgow Rangers, then won six out of eight Champions League matches.”

I'd go for him, he's definitely a good Coach...to guide a bag of shit club like Viola the way he did is certainly a big achievement

The man knows what he's doing, loves Juve, and tbh, is the type of coach we need. Not Capello, Lippi experienced and not Ferrera, Zero experience.

I'm willing to bet Juventus is going to become competitive with Prandelli in charge. But i still think its stupid to prefer him to a coach like Rafa Benitez.

I'd rather have someone who knows Serie A than someone who's never coached here.

Its not like Serie A is some unknown league.

Plus Rafa is on a completely different level than Prandelli, you might as well say you'd prefer Zacheronni to Ferguson because the former knows the league better.

that's true, but I don't think we can afford Rafa or realistically be able to get him here.

Well obviously I wouldn't, it's just that I'm not a fan of Benitez

Thats another story, and that would make a lot more sense than saying you would prefer Prandelli over Rafa given the choice between the two.

It will take more than just a coach to revive this Juve. In fiorentina, he had a decent sporting director, a president that has a true vision. We're yet to have that in Juve.

Prandelli is good yes, but we'll need more than just him to get back to our best....

I disagree, the team we have now is very high quality, we are a couple of players away from being genuine contenders for all competitions...and a decent Coach who actually knows what the fuck he is doing can take us to the top.

Well he has a strong squad to work with, i don't think he can win the league next season, but i do believe he'll give Inter a tough time.

I'd love to see both corvino and Prandelli together in this club, with a bigger budget the two would do great things here.

We need a serious move like that, if only :depressed .
