a major thing that is here that wasnt during the season last year, team spirit.
I think there was nice atmosphere too at the start of last season. Buffon going nuts after a save, Melo celebrating the goals like a kid, everyone was smiling. But later the results kill the spirit.
That's why I hope the smiles will stay till the end of the season :D

Our 9th win of the trofeo. Last time we won it was in 2004, and in that season we won the league.. hope its a start of something great.

Krasic better adapt quickly, then we can put Pepe on the left...Marchi has to show some balls and get his act together otherwise he will be benched.

Martinez and Lanza are just FAIL.

This sentence is the one that took my attention in Reuters' report about the match:

Juventus beat AC Milan 5-4 on penalties after a dour 0-0 draw in a final pre-season friendly on Sunday with neither side looking anything like Serie A title challengers.

We play a game using 1-2 players who are going to be starters and we don't look like title challengers? That's a shock

One step at a time, im suprised that statement even considers us anywhere near a challenger prior tonight. We aint and wont be but CL spot challengers certainly. Lets not even raise our expectations any close to like we did last season.

Well, I'm glad everyone is happy, but can anyone here honestly say that, from what we've seen thus far, we are improving on last season ??

I feel like I'm watching the same team as last year, making the same errors. We couldnt put anything together offensively last season, and it continues now. So much for the new fucking "system" Del Neri is putting together, so far, its a fucking failure.

Martinez and Pepe are the fucking Grygera and De Ceglie of the midfield. These guys are wingers ?? No, they cant cross the ball and give it away waaaay to much. The attack cannot go thru these two scrubs, unless we wanna give the ball away and get beat on a counter-attack.

And speaking of Grygera and De Ceglie, neither one deserves to wear our uniform. De Ceglie is only getting worse, while Grygera has never shown anyone that he belongs in our black and white shirt.

Marchisio isnt improving much either, I dont see what anyone here believes is so good about him.

On the positive side, Melo was good, and from this performance alone, he deserves to start. Its just too bad that Momo or Marchisio will end up being his partner in the middle while Aquilani is out most of the season with numerous injuries.

Diego did more than Trez and DP combined, but still cant find the back of the net. Amauri had some misses too. At least the tempo picked up when these two entered the game, as we were so slow to attack for much of the game that any over 35 club team could have handled us with ease. We never got anyone open in front of their net, while Milan was able to free someone at least 4 or 5 times, but couldnt convert.

Manninger- made a few nice saves (the one from Ronaldinho comes to mind)

Grygera- I finally figured out his problem. Some ppl cannot walk and chew gum at the same time...he cant play football and chew gum at the same time !! :p

Legro- I thought he was decent, and played mistake free

Chellini- solid as always

De Ceglie- getting worse....cant cover anyone, and gets caught out waaay too much. A one way ticket to Foggia is in order

Martinez- 12 million dollars wasted on a chump who cant pass the ball or do much else

Melo- my M.O.T.M. he did everything right today, and kept his cool

Marchisio- the invisible man, doesnt add much to our team. A fit Aquilani will fill his spot

Pepe- loads of energy, but has no football skill. One good cross the entire game, and gave the ball away numerous times.

DP- tried, but had limited service, and lost the ball whenever he got it

Trez- not much service for him either, and drifted out of the game

subs:

Momo- same as usual, adds little to the game except bad passes

Bonucci- I didnt notice him in there, which means he was mistake free

Motta- wasnt in long enough for me to get a good look, but anythings better than Grygera

Amauri- was lively, but missed a few chances

Diego- made an instant impact, made some great moves with a few shots on net. Thankfully, he's staying !!

Lanzafame- he isnt the answer on the wing either....I will give him some slack because of his age, but he wont be an impact player. Not now, not later.....

Del Neri- a mediocre coach with a slightly above average team= no trophies

Marotta- never trust a man who cant look you in the eye....he brought in 2 useless players, and now an injury prone one. This could be ANOTHER long season.....

I thought martinez had some good run,his passing is ok,although i would like to see him run with the ball more often,he made a great pass through del piero and did not lose the ball that easily, though he should be making more runs into the box,at times he just waited there and played so many balls to de ceglie which is not good..i would give martinez a 6/10

what game were you watching ??

You must have missed the play when Martinez passed the ball, had it intercepted, got it back immediately, and did the same exact thing :sergio:
